Our story began at Salty's on Alki Beach in November 2017, where we met while working together. At first, we were simply coworkers, but everything changed when I transferred to the catering department in May 2018 and got to know Nhan a little better. As fate would have it, he was my supervisor. In July 2018, Nhan started inviting me to lunch. We went to lunch together three times before I even realized they were supposed to be dates! Not long after, he planned a day trip to Vashon Island. We rode the ferry, explored the island, and shared a great meal together. On the ferry ride home, he nervously asked, "Would it be weird if I kissed you since I'm your boss?" Thankfully, the answer was no. We shared our first kiss, and on August 5, 2018, we officially started dating. As our relationship grew, Nhan moved into the same apartment complex as me. We spent the next year building a life together before moving in together and renting our home in Fairwood in November 2019. A home we still happily share today. One of the greatest blessings of our journey has been blending our families. Nhan's wonderful daughters, Emily and Olivia, quickly became such an important part of my life, and I love them dearly. Nhan embraced my son, Kayson, as his own, loving and supporting him every step of the way. Then, shortly after Halloween in 2021, we received exciting news: we were expecting a baby. Our son Bodhi joined our family in July of 2022 and has brought endless joy, laughter, and love into our lives. In August 2024, we traveled to San Diego for what would become one of the most memorable moments of our story. On August 15, Nhan proposed at Tuna Harbor Park beside the famous Unconditional Surrender statue. The location held deep meaning for him. His father served in the U.S. Navy, and the statue recreates the iconic World War II photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in celebration of the war's end. San Diego also holds a special place in his family's history, as it was one of the first places they arrived when they came to America after the Vietnam War. Standing beneath a monument that symbolized both love and new beginnings, Nhan asked me to spend forever with him. Of course, I said yes. What started with a few lunches that I didn't realize were dates has grown into a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and family. Together, we've built a home, blended our families, welcomed Bodhi into the world, and created a life that is greater than anything either of us could have imagined. We are so grateful for every chapter that has brought us here, and we're excited to celebrate the next one with all of you on our wedding day when I officially become a Mrs. Nguyen!
