👰🏻♀️Brie: My first sight of Bernard was on his Coffee Meets Bagel dating profile. I liked his profile first so technically I did make the first move. Later that evening, he liked my profile too and we became a match. I remember receiving his first message while stopping by Coles on the way home from work and losing track of time while replying in my car. I felt that right from the start, there was a spark. 🤵🏻Bernard: Brie called me Raymond in her first message to me. I was not sure if she was meaning to message someone else. But I played along for a good 5 minutes until I thought it would be worthwhile to check if she knew who she was messaging. 👰🏻♀️: Naturally, I was mortified by the "Raymond" debacle. For the record, I don't know where that name came from. Our conversations quickly became a part of my routine that I looked forward to. Written messages turned into audio calls then video calls. 🤵🏻: When I first met Brie, I was very nervous and anxious (to find a parking space). Upon first seeing her, I was struck by how easygoing and friendly she was. Even though we had only just met in person for the first time, the experience felt so comfortable. 👰🏻♀️: Bernard drove to the Sunshine Coast for our first date. I felt a sense of calm instantly when I saw him. He was quietly confident and a gentleman. 🤵🏻: We spent the day exploring Maleny, sitting by Baroon Pocket Dam in the rain (the reason for this wedding theme). We also did a fair bit of karaoke in the car- 👰🏻♀️: I may have accidentally taken a few wrong turns on the way to Maleny and back (my sense of direction is notoriously bad)...But it felt like barely any time passed while we were singing in the car. 🤵🏻: The first date led to another and now here we are!
We met in person for the first time on a rainy day on the Sunshine Coast. While walking across Baroon Pocket Dam before a planned hike of the Kondalilla Falls Circuit, it started to sprinkle down with rain. At that point, we had to decide between running back to the car or running to the other side of the walkway where there was a small undercover picnic table. Picnic table it was! We made the most of the rest of the day getting to know each other, despite the change of plans. Our first date was the first example of how, rain, hail or shine (or even especially when it rains), life is better when we’re together ☺️.
We said yes on May 5, 2025 while riding the Tempozan Ferris Wheel. By the time our gondola reached the top, we enjoyed the stunning night time views of Osaka as a newly engaged couple. We commemorated our engagement by going to Umeda Sky and getting our names and the date engraved into heart shaped locks. We are so excited to become husband and wife and warmly welcome you to our wedding. You are all very important to us, you have helped us become the people we are today and you enrich our lives continuously. We cannot imagine saying “I do” without you 💍.
