Who knew a simple Olive Garden lunch date with my Matron of Honor, Jennifer, would bring us together. On this day 6 years ago, I ventured to lunch with one of my best friends. I pulled up to Enterprise where she worked at the time along with Cavon. I waited in the parking lot as I texted her that I was outside. Within minutes, a happy and smiling Cavon came out of the door on the way to a customer. He flashed me a smile and a hello as he passed the front of my car. I knew that smile was more than a “Hello”. So I texted Jen and asked her what’s his story. Jen came out within seconds and we headed to lunch. So we got to lunch and caught up on our usual life talk. So I asked her the details of her co-worker. She explained that he asked if she had any friends. She told him about me and that we were going to lunch. Which I am convinced, that is why he came strolling out the door prior to us going to lunch. She described him as funny, cool, and a partier. My face instantly shut down, and I was under the impression it wouldn’t work. So we finished lunch and got ready to go back to Enterprise. I pulled around the back to drop her off. In doing so, we realized that a few of the guys were outside washing cars, including Cavon. Jennifer got out of the car and called Cavon over. Cavon came over, smiled and said hello. She introduced us, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
We got married in a small intimate ceremony in the gardens of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte on September 26, 2020. We said our own vows and made our union official in front of God and a few family members and friends.
