Their first date was supposed to be at Crave, for Bridgette's love of oysters, but the restaurant couldn’t fit them. So, instead they walked around the block waiting for an open table. What was supposed to be a happy-hour date turned into a 6-hour adventure full of laughter and Phil taking a pickle to the eye. Bridgette swears it was an accident. Everything In Between They officially started dating 3 weeks after their first date, when Bridgette crushed Phil in a bet at a Mets/ Braves game. It would take another few months for Bridgette to save Phil's number. Since then, they have been to 19 different cities, 4 countries, and 13 weddings. They even managed to sneak in a Valentines weekend trip to Paris before the lockdown. After spending 3 months not being able to see each other during the height of the pandemic, they decided to move in together in the East Village of NYC so that their Shiba Inu, Chipper, wouldn’t be so sad without Bridgette. Not too long after, they added a little more chaos to their lives by bringing home a 10lb pup of terror named Jeter. (Go Yankees.) The Proposal It was Bridgette's birthday weekend, and they invited some friends over for a Saturday BBQ on their roof-deck. Unbeknownst to B, Phil had reached out to friends and family and told them the plan to gather on Friday instead. This way everyone could celebrate after he proposed. On Thursday, to Phil's horror, Bridgette ripped off all of her nail polish, potentially ruining all their pictures of her ring. So now, Phil had to convince her to fix them while trying to not give the whole surprise away. Friday night arrived with polished nails. B, Phil, their friend Maureen , and Phil’s brother, went out to happy hour, while guests to snuck in and prepared for the party. On the walk back, with B complaining the whole way about walking, Phil got on one knee in a heart shaped string of rose petals in front of their building. She said yes, onlookers cheered and the engagement party ensued!
