We got married in 2018, and we never had a reception. We're gonna have a big party some day when we can afford it, okay? Promise. For now, we are REALLY psyched that we have the same last name and we want to celebrated it. It's also our 2nd wedding anniversary on January 12th. So we're gonna combine to the two and have fun.

Why a potluck?

Answer

We are the product of all the love we've received from the people in our lives. We are who we are because of you. So our party will be what it is because of you, too.

Why is there a ritual?

Answer

Because Becca really likes rituals. Rituals honor the events in our lives and become symbols for the fleeting, beautiful, important moments. It'll just be a quick one and then we'll keep partying.

What are we gonna do there?

Answer

We're going to eat, we're going to drink, we're going to hang out, we're going to be silly, and we're going to dance.

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

PLEASE DO!!! Kids are rad and we are so excited to hang with them.

What if I can't bring something for the potluck?

Answer

You do not need to make any explanation if you aren't able to bring something. There's no need to tell us what you brought or why you couldn't bring something unless you really want to. Food is great, but we want YOU there most of all.

Where can I park if I'm driving to UUCM?

Answer

UUCM (Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair) is located right in downtown Montclair. I'm not going to lie to you-- parking in Montclair can really suck. Sometimes you can find street parking if you're really lucky, but there are also paid lots and garages within walking distance of the building.

What kind of food should I bring?

Answer

Anything! Appetizers, snacks, entrees, sides... whatever makes your heart sing. Don't worry about what everyone else will want-- bring what YOU want. We'll have drinks and desserts covered. It doesn't matter if you cooked it or bought it or made someone else cook it-- it will be great! Please sign up for what you're going to bring here: https://signup.com/login/entry/256993273248714060 so that we can all have a sense of what everyone else is bringing :) Note that we will have access to a kitchen where we could heat some things up, but we won't be able to fully cook any dishes there. If you let us know in advance that you need a chafing dish, we can make sure there is one there for you, but otherwise we won't plan on bringing any-- we wouldn't know how many to get! If you can, please also bring a serving utensil (spoon, tongs, spatula) for whatever your dish requires! Whatever container you bring your food in will be how we'll serve it on the table-- no need to get fancy!

Is there anything else I should know?

Answer

Dress absolutely however you want. If you want to go fancy, that's great. If you are feeling more casual, that's fab. If you like jammies-- well, Becca is still deciding whether or not they'll bring jammies for a costume change. There's not gonna be a DJ, but we're going to make a playlist. So if there is song you really want to hear, we'd love if you send our way. We just want YOU to be near US so that we can HUG you and LAUGH with you and DANCE with you and LOVE you.
