Many guests will be staying at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown where they have their own garage attached to the hotel at $20/night. The Gillespie is 0.3 mi. walking distance (about 7 min.). Anyone driving directly to the event may park in the Market Street Parking Garage located at 536 West Market Street. at $15. Street meter parking is available; Free after 6pm and on Sundays. Uber and Lyft services are very prompt in Louisville and should be available if needed.
In short, yes! Louisville is a metropolitan city like any other, and we ask that general safety awareness be utilized: don't walk alone, lock all car doors with belongings hidden, and follow street signals when crossing crosswalks. Kevin and I frequent downtown, and have not had any problems at night. Just be smart!
Reception: This will be an open bar event with a variety of liquor, beer, and wine options. No outside food or beverage is permitted at The Gillespie. In other words, leave the flasks at home... we got you covered! After Party: O'shea's private loft has a fully stocked bar and will be ready for our rowdy crowd. Due to budgetary restrictions, any drinks will be at the expense of the guest. Please start a tab and be ready to party!
