Bridget and Brian met in August of 2014 during rush week for their band service fraternity (super secret band club). Bridget did not know who Brian was, but instantly had a crush on him and thought he was the funniest person she had ever met. Brian connected instantly with Bridget from the first time they spoke with another. It was obvious to him he had met his soulmate. While there is no definite date that their relationship began, Bridget's love for Brian was confirmed when he bought her a Jimmy John's sandwich one late college night (it's the small things, folks). Brian knew he loved Bridget from the beginning! And being a 19 year old boy, Jimmy Johns was OBVIOUSLY the best way to show it (he's learned a lot since then). The two became inseparable (and possibly unbearable) but have known that they were meant to be together from very on in their relationship. Bridget and Brian's relationship has only been strengthened by long distances during Brian's summers marching drum corps, Bridget's summers at Sunsplash, internships, and final semesters in school. Bridget has loved encouraging Brian in all of his endeavors; from traveling across the country to watch him perform with Carolina Crown to supporting his career change post-grad. Brian loves to give constant support to Bridget as she's become a board certified music therapist and opened her own private practice early in her career. He is well aware that Bridget is the smartest person he knows and that's the reason he lets her do all of the wedding planning.
Brian tricked Bridget into a proposal by planning a simple Saturday brunch with friends one April morning. As Brian walked Bridget past the restaurant, he told Bridget to close her eyes and she instead left her eyes open, covered them with her hand, and proceeded to look down. She saw Ben's shoes come into frame and knew instantly that a proposal was coming, but was not at all prepared for what came next. Brian got down on one knee, asked Bridget the question, she sobbed and ~never actually said yes~ and then he turned her around to show her that he had flown a majority of their friends and family in town to witness the second best day of their lives. After saying hi and hugging and crying with all 30 guests in attendance, Bridget and Brian continued to brunch with most of their favorite people. But the fun. didn't. stop. there. This perfect spring morning was complete with a surprise engagement party back at Bridget & Brian's apartment, followed by an evening Atlanta Braves baseball game (which the Braves ended up winning). Bridget and Brian are extremely lucky to have had their loved ones with them on this day and it is one that they will cherish forever.
