We're Getting Married!

Briana and Ben met the modern way - by swiping right on a stranger. They met on the dating app, Hinge, in January of 2022. We all know dating apps can be risky, but they caught a stroke of luck. After a few weeks of talking online, they took a chance and decided to meet in person for their first date at Gather, in Greenville. This led to another, then another, including picnics in the park. They quickly met each others' families - which, if you’ve met Briana’s family, you know Ben needed that aforementioned luck. Ben’s a good sport and continued to pursue Briana, despite her crazy family and celebrating the weirdest St. Patrick’s Day (that also included a Thanksgiving meal). Briana has also been a good sport, loving Ben - the Foodie - and all of his dining adventures, putting chicken tenders and cheeseburgers aside for Saskatoon’s - the restaurant for wild game eaters. That was the night Briana determined she does like salmon. Their love grew, and they began planning trips and discussing a future together. And after a few dating duds, they'd finally found their perfect match.

In September of 2023, Ben and Briana took a trip to Cancun. What Briana didn’t know was that this was the trip Ben was planning to ask the ultimate question. How she missed the TSA pat down and Ben’s profuse sweating - we don’t know, but Cancun’s 80 degree weather was likely a good cover. His original plan was casually interrupted by a Hurricane, but thankfully there are few troubles to have in paradise. Ben’s stroke of luck continued, when Briana, excited to celebrate their anniversary in the beautiful landscape of Cancun, requested a romantic dinner and photography session on the beach. With the ring weighing heavy in Ben’s pocket (even as they swam the resort swimming pools), Ben knew it was time to ask the two most important questions. During their photography session, he asked, with adoption papers in hand, to become the official “Caddy” (Cat Daddy) to her fur babies: Gracie and Buttons. Briana didn’t hesitate and they signed the papers immediately. The second, was the big one. “Will you marry me?” Briana, in shock, first followed up the question with a confirmation of “Did you just propose?” And when Ben, still sweating, said “Yes I did,” Briana jumped into his arms and exclaimed “YES!” We can’t thank you enough for being an important part of our lives and celebrating this special day with us!
