We met up at a local walmart (because blind date safety first ;) and carpooled to go watch the movie Tag. After the movie got out it was dark and Chris asked Allison, "I know this pretty cool place that no one really knows about, wanna go?" Allison replied using all her smarts, "Sure!" (she also texted a friend and said, "If you don't hear from me in an hour, Chris Clyde did it). We drove to this random apartment complex and started walking down this small wooded path, using our phone flashlights to see, and eventually came to a small beach by a river. There were two chairs conveniently out and quality conversation ensued including: each persons back story, views on the second amendment, and whether or not Chris should get in the river. Eventually we got up to leave and Chris asked, "Should we find our own way back?" And of course, Allison said, "Heck yes." We forged through the woods, finally stumbling out on a local road. We navigated ourselves back to the car where we drove back to walmart and said our first of many goodbyes.
Remember the sketchy path that led to a river that we went on during our first date? So, it's much less sketchy in the daytime, when you know the person, and you've been there before. We were heading to see a movie, the third "How to train your dragon", and on our way we made a turn into that same apartment complex that started it all. Allison looked at Chris and said, "I KNOW WHERE WE ARE!" We walked down that same path. We walked over to the same river. But this time, Chris grabbed Allison's face, said lots of nice things then got down on one knee and said the famous line, "Will you marry me?!" We took pictures with a tripod, went and surprised Chris' nephews, ate a yummy meal, and went and saw a movie to round out the whole thing. Way to go, Christopher.
