We're getting married!

Brice and Lauren were introduced by mutual friends with a round of Top Golf in November of 2022 as Sophomores at Clemson University. At first quiet and awkward, it took a conversation on the difference between the drink sarsaparilla and sassafras leaves for them to chat with and tease each other. An activity they refuse to stop. After that first date, they decided to spend a few more days with each other that week. One of those dates was a rodeo where they spent two hours in traffic playing rock, paper, scissors with the kids in the car ahead. Whether Lauren dominates in a game of Sequence or Brice wins another cup in Mario Kart, they love to play games with each other. Away from home, they explore parks on hikes where Lauren can teach you every species of tree and bird you can imagine (there’s more than you think) and they attend local markets and events where Brice tries to open every door because “it's fun to explore.” On a weekly occurrence, Lauren will come home with a random new plant while Brice adds on to his random collection of knick-knacks and do-dads. However, their favorite activity together is cooking. Concocting, frying, whisking, and if they dare, baking is essential to them. They love trying new recipes and coming up with their own on a whim from a glance at what's in stock in the fridge. Thankfully though, their kitchen is a more tranquil environment than the Bear's Original Beef of Chicagoland. Just don’t peek in when it's time to knead the dough. Brice popped the question in December of 2025 at Sassafras Mountain in South Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Lauren spent the day in a rollercoaster of anticipation as she waited for Brice to find a non-existent overlook. After hiking several miles, they headed to the peak where the view showed the South Carolina and North Carolina border to the north and the familiar lakes of Keowee and Hartwell to the south. With her own expert hand, Lauren set up the camera, oblivious to Brice’s goal with its placement. On cue, the camera snapped the scene of Brice balancing on one knee on a rocky overlook while Lauren stood in shock crying: “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me!” before inspecting the ring. She eventually gave Brice an answer. Eventually. You can find them now in Charlotte’s LoSo district where they cook, tease, and live the days away in peace and harmony. Well, as long as they’re not baking.
