Hood River is a very small town and there are multiple weddings that weekend. Any remaining airbnb's are likely priced very high, so try to see if anyone can go-in with you...or see if there are remaining rooms at any of the more affordable hotels in town.
July 30th at the Gorge could be very warm, however because it's on the river, there is always a breeze in the Gorge. The official request is "cocktail attire"....but if that scares you, we would simply ask no jeans or shorts. We want guests to be comfortable. Having said that, Briar wears a ball gown almost everywhere she goes, so please feel free to dress to the nines! We've been cooped up at home in sweats for 2 years, let's shine!
Due to COVID, wineries are only allowing so many guests, which is why we went with the pre-paid wine tour option. Our guide will make reservations and the 5 wineries will likely close to other guests except our tour. Having said that, there are many wineries in the "fruit loop", so call ahead and make reservations and you may get in!
Portland is less than an hour away, you could easily stay there if you're willing to drive. There are also shuttle options you can look into.
Wouldn't it be fun if it was? ;)
Don't worry, friend. You can make requests in real-time!
We will have one gluten-free option (which is also vegan and dairy free) and a vegetarian option as well (fettucine which will have plenty o'diary.) We will also have sides that are appropriate. Other than that, pack a Cliff Bar for you and one for your good cholesterol.
There were 12 rooms still available at the venue at last glance! You can book using the link below, or by calling and mentioning the Ben Retlin wedding. https://bookings.travelclick.com/99913?groupID=3490155
Briar & Ben spent years working on a hash tag...believe me, the options were very limited. Please feel free to tag any wedding related photos on fb or insta with this hashtag so the couple will end up with an "album" of their special day!
