Question

Payment details for staying onsite

Answer

Please respond to the invitation rsvp and select that you would like to stay onsite. The bride and groom will reach out directly to you regarding accommodation. Accommodation information can be found directly on the Drumtochty website. However, payment and selections will go directly through the bride and groom. Rooms are booked through the couple. You let us know you are interested and your room fee is added to our bill. Once rooms are assigned pricing per room will be given and the total is due 3 months before the Wedding (August 2025). Payment can be made directly to the couple either cash, check, Venmo, or PayPal. If you have questions prior to accepting or declining the invitation please reach out to the bride or groom.

Question

When should I get my passport?

Answer

If you know you are joining us for our big day, get your passports ASAP. They can take a few weeks to process and they last for 10 years (5 years for children). If you have a passport, check that expiration date as there is a '6 month rule' in which you are not permitted to travel for 6 months before your passport expires.

Question

When should I book my flight?

Answer

Flights can be booked 11 months out so the earliest you can book a flight would be November of 2024. Google states the best time to buy international tickets is 5-6 months prior to your planned trip. There are agencies such as Expedia that will track the price of flights you are interested in. We've found booking further in advance gives us the best price, but it's recommended to browse on 'incognito' as the companies tend to bump the pricing of flights based off google searches/popularity.

Question

Currency Exchange

Answer

Currency can be done at your bank, a credit union, online agencies, and at the airport. Fees for exchanging to Great British Pounds (GBP) may vary with the airport likely being the most expensive. We do recommend bringing some physical currency with you. Most places accept cards and even give you the option to be billed in USD or GBP. Additionally, be mindful of fees to use your cards overseas. Contact your local bank for that information. Also, make sure to notify your bank of your expected travels so your account does not get flagged

Question

What if I miss the payment deadline to stay onsite?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any late payments towards accommodation for we also have a deadline through the venue. However, we would still love to celebrate with you and can share recommendations for accommodation throughout aberdeenshire.
