It all started when we met in March and started dating on April 10, 2023, and from that very first day, something just felt different. There was an instant connection. Whether we’re planning road trips, flying across the country, or just enjoying quiet nights in, we’ve found so much joy in every special moment together. From sharing gluten-free snacks to reading every ingredient label like it’s a contract, we knew we’d found a match made in dietary restriction heaven. We’ve traveled far and wide together, made countless memories, and had more inside jokes than we can count. But through all the adventures, the most important one has been simply growing in love with each other. That love led us to one unforgettable moment. The day before we were set to leave for a cruise, Derek had a surprise plan. We were in Miami, and before heading to our dinner reservation, he asked if we could stop by the Botanical Gardens. It seemed like just another sweet idea from someone who always goes the extra mile, but little did I know, this walk would change everything. Surrounded by lush greenery and the warmth of a Florida sunset, we strolled hand in hand through the gardens. It was peaceful, quiet, and beautiful…just like our love. Then, right before we were about to leave, right in front of a beautiful fountain, Derek stopped, looked at me with the same eyes I fell in love with, and got down on one knee. With tears in my eyes and the biggest smile on my face, I said yes to forever. It was the easiest yes of my life and the most perfect moment. The next morning, we boarded our cruise and not just as travel partners, but as soulmates starting a brand new chapter. And now, we can’t wait to keep writing this story together for the rest of our lives.
