As you all know, Lauren moved to Topeka during the height of the pandemic. With her she brought her loving companion cavapoo Teddy Bauer. The pair strolled the busy neighborhood full of other 20-somethings and families. On a brisk afternoon, Lauren and Teddy turned the corner out of their neighborhood. Lauren looked across the street and saw a beautiful girl with a fanny pack that definitely looked like she could be on a softball team. The girl climbed into her subaru outback, little did Lauren know, this was soon to be, the love of her life. Of course, Bri did not notice Lauren because as always her head was high up in the clouds. Soon after, they ended up meeting and going on a date. Our first date was at Happy Basset Brewing Co. As we headed out and said our goodbyes, Lauren was confused when Bri followed her home. They soon figured out, they were the ones who lived across the street from each other. It did not take long before we both fell deeply in love with each other and became inseparable. After a year together, we decided paying 2 rents was useless and we found our (temporary) forever home together. We did have to integrate our two little families together and get the cats (Minnie and Russell) used to living with our puppy (Teddy Bauer). Since then we have found each of our unique hobbies worked well together in our home. Bri is an avid (beginner) contractor who built or refinished all our furniture, while Lauren worked to decorate, both making this house our home. Ever since we moved in, Lauren was asking Bri "When can we get married", Bri's response was always "I am not ready yet". This drove Lauren crazy. Little did she know, Bri (who is terrible at keeping secrets, especially form Lauren) had long been planning her proposal. Finally, Bri's plan was falling into place and she had Lauren's Granny's ring and a beautiful green necklace for the proposal. Just days before our second anniversary Bri slyly asked Lauren to go take pictures at Shawnee Lake so we could have something to post on our anniversary. As we rounded a corner in the Tulip garden- Bri grabbed Laurens hands and asked to talk. Lauren of course was shocked and ran away saying "No, really, right now? Are you serious?". Of course she quickly came back and said "Okay, I am ready". Bri's sister Sam then popped out of the bushes and took pictures while Bri popped the question. Since then, we have been enjoying our lives together and planning our beautiful wedding! We can't wait to celebrate this big milestone with all of you!
