Our story begins on Angel’s very first day teaching at Vimy Ridge Public School. While our interaction that day was brief, it was clearly memorable. Angel is convinced his good looks had something to do with it (and honestly… We won’t argue). Later that evening, Angel noticed a DM request waiting on Instagram. It was from Bri, the beautiful teacher he had just met, reaching out to offer her help if he needed anything at school. A thoughtful gesture… or a very smooth first move? We’ll let you decide. What started as a simple message quickly became something much more. Days turned into weeks of spending time together. Coaching soccer and basketball, organizing large group student activities, and finding every excuse to be around each other (yes, Angel would spend all of his breaks in my classroom and park beside my car everyday). Somewhere between the 6am Capital Strength gym sessions, 11:00pm co-ed soccer games, and spending every lunch break together, that always seemed too short, we realized this was different. Our shared love for fitness, sports, and supporting our students brought us together, but it was how naturally we understood each other that made us stay. What began as casual time, going on 14km runs and chatting the whole time, quickly became the kind of connection neither of us had experienced before. Then came two moments that would quietly define everything. We still argue about which one was “the moment we knew.” Angel’s version: Sitting at lunch one day, Bri casually asked, “Do you want to go see Messi play?” Without hesitation, and with zero composure, Angel replied, “I would marry you if you took me to see Messi.” Two weeks later, we were in Miami… to see Messi play. Bri’s version: Our first trip to Disney World together was unforgettable. Angel kept up with every single thing I wanted to do (princess rides and spending 15-hours in Magic Kingdom) and honestly, I think he was having even more fun than I was. The EPCOT fireworks started and he leaned in and asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend. It was magical, perfect, and everything I had ever dreamed of, and in that moment, I knew this was forever. We both realized that whatever we had, it was meant to last. Those moments became more than just trips, they reflected who we are together: not just dreaming, but making each other’s dreams come true. Since then, life has been a series of shared goals, challenges, and milestones. From running marathons together to traveling across the country to support Ironmans, from career growth to building a life we’re proud of, we’ve learned that everything feels lighter, stronger, and more meaningful when we’re side by side. What we’ve found in each other is more than love, it’s partnership, friendship, and a sense of home. We get to be completely ourselves, push each other to be better, and celebrate every win together. We truly believe we’ve found our person. And now, we get to celebrate the start of forever with all of you
