We met in an improv class. Brianna's first ever improv class and Walter's first time ever assistant teaching an improv class. We became fast friends and shared a ton of laughs. We were like magnets. Eventually, we fell in love and have been inseparable ever since.
We woke up in Rome and Mary (Walter's mom) had a surprise for us that day. For Walter’s birthday, she led us on a scavenger hunt through the city. We went to the Belvedere at the Colosseum . We went to the Wedding Cake Monument. We went to the Pantheon. We went to Piazza Novana and saw the Bernini fountains. We went to Castle San Angelo. We went to the Spanish Steps. And then finally we went to Trevi Fountain! Side note—-When we were at Piazza Novana, we were approached by a photographer who offered to follow us around and take pictures of all three of us. I thought it was weird, but I didn’t think too much of it considering Mary can be weird sometimes! At Trevi Fountain, we were given the final clue to the scavenger hunt. We had to be blind folded, throw coins into the fountain, and make a wish for love. When I took off my blindfold, I was shocked to see Walter on one knee, with a ring, proposing!! It took a moment for me to process that it was really happening! I heard him say, “My only wish is that you’d be my queen forever!” I didn’t even get to actually hear him ask me to marry him because the crowd cheering was so loud! I knew that I should respond with, “YES!!!”—because I was pretty sure that he had just asked me to marry him! After the proposal it took me a couple minutes to process that Walter had been a part of it the whole time. He had actually planned the whole scavenger hunt!! And that random photographer—-he was hired way ahead of time!!!
