How We Met

Sliding into her DM's

Flashback to 2017, Brianna walked into the first day of class five minutes late and plopped down next to a random girl watching the Badger football game on her laptop. Brianna's first thought: she's cute. Second thought: she's definitely straight so nevermind. Third thought: how the heck do I fold this silly name tent?! At that point, the badger fan judgingly asked "do you need help with that" and proceded to fold Brianna's name tent for her with ease. For a month, they were crushing on each other from afar but avoided interaction. UNTIL... Brianna was late to class (again) and was forced to sit by Stephanie (again) and decided to test her luck by getting her flirt on. Brianna made some witty comments that made Stephanie laugh. Feeling confident, she added Stephanie on Instagram the second class was over. Subtle and smooth. :) Another month with no interaction passed. Brianna claims she was "planting the seed" but Stephanie realized Brianna might be too big of a baby to reach out. Stephanie took things into her own hands and sent a message asking her on a date to Lakeville Brewery. On the date, they got lost in conversation and were only reminded of the time when the lights were getting shut off for the night. It was clear then that this was going to be something, it had to be because they had class together at 8 am the next morning!

The Proposals

Will you marry me? Wait No!

December 1st is special to us because it marks the beginning of our favorite holiday season. It was the time of year we fell in love and both of the traditions we have built with our families growing up remind us of the magic of the season. Simultaneously, we concocted the most perfect and unique proposal that ever could be. As we decorated our tree, we kept telling each other how special this day was and how happy we were; both completely unaware that we had planned the SAME perfect and unique proposal. As Brianna was taking the ring out of its hiding place, Stephanie anxiously waited under the tree for Brianna to come in the room. Brianna began to suggest that we should open a bottle of wine (this wine bottle had the proposal written on it) but she was interrupted by Stephanie popping out from under the tree with her ring in hand! Brianna was so taken aback her response was "Wait no!" and she ran out of the room to find her ring for Stephanie. We sat next to our undecorated tree, laughing and crying, for the next twenty minutes. And for those who are wondering, no we had literally no idea that the other was planning to propose on the same day!

COVID-19 Wedding

6.6.2020

Due to the outstanding chaos of the last year, we had to push back our wedding and then we cancelled it and then we changed our mind and planned a small ceremony. Then we cancelled that again. Then we decided what the heck, let's do it anyway! As many of you already know, we had a beautiful, intimate ceremony on June 6th, 2020 surrounded by our immediate family (in person and on Zoom). It was the perfect day in the backyard of Stephanie's childhood home that ended in a first dance on the porch in the rain. We had a delicious dinner, enjoyed some sangria and danced the night away. Since that day was everything we could have imagined, we decided against a big wedding and instead chose to prioritize what is most important to us, celebrating with all of the people we care about. We can't wait to enjoy another summer gathering with BBQ, drinks and dancing with all of our friends and family!
