Our story is embarrassing honestly but those are the best ones. It was the summer after my senior year and the summer before his, July 2016. Pokémon Go had just come out so it was the biggest thing, I was at bicentennial park in downtown Asheboro one afternoon with my friends when we meet this other group of guys. There he was like that TLC song hanging out of the passenger side of his best friends ride (quietly and politely) trying to holler at me. I wasn’t buying it but I did give the charming blonde hair, blue eyed boy my phone number. We texted for a few days when one night I get a text saying he was at work not to far from my house and had ran out of gas and needed me to take him to the gas station. After helping him out and talking in the parking lot for a while he gave me his hoodie and we said goodbye I got in my car and rolled my window down to say bye one more time and then he did it. He shouted out of his window bye I love you, I couldn’t see my face but from the text he sent after I must have looked frightened. He then texts me to say I don’t love you, now I’m interested why don’t love you me I mean what’s not to love. I then devoted myself to making this sweet and charming boy love me and that I did.
The proposal was something magical, it took place in downtown Charleston, SC. We went to Charleston to celebrate Mitchells 21st birthday and his grandparents and parents came so that nothing seemed abnormal to me (later I found out his parents only came to be apart of their oldest sons proposal). We all planned to go to dinner that Friday night but wanted to take a walk to the white point garden first. I was walking with Mitchells sister and he was walking with his stepdad, he was telling Mitchell we wouldn’t make it to the garden for the proposal before it gets dark he needs to propose somewhere else sooner. So we reach the waterfront park which happened to be my favorite spot in Charleston they just didn’t know that. Mitchells mom asks for us to stand together for a picture. We smile for a second and then Mitchell looked at me and said “Brianna I love you more than anything in the world, you're my soulmate and my best friend. Brianna Bean will you marry me?”. I barely heard what he said because I was happy crying so hard, but I knew he was on one knee and that he wanted to marry me. I said yes and I told him how much I loved him and how perfect this day was and how perfect this spot was. He thought his plans were ruined but everything fell perfectly into place and we were exactly where we should’ve been in that moment.
