Our Love Story

Like all great modern love stories, ours started with an algorithm and a little bit of luck.

After both of us had our fair share of “what were we thinking?” dates, we met on Match.com and decided to give one more first date a try. Laughter came easily as we swapped stories of past dating disasters. What started as lighthearted banter quickly turned into something special. We spent nearly six hours talking — about movies, family, life, and even our favorite superheroes. By the end of the night, neither of us wanted it to end. From there, our love story began. Kyle sealed his reputation as “the thoughtful one” early by stocking the fridge with Diet Coke before Bri’s first visit. On another date, he ran through the rain to add time to her parking meter — not just to save her from a ticket, but to give them more time together. We spent weekends exploring new places, embracing each other’s quirks, and finding joy in firsts — her first bike ride, her first cider mill visit, and her first trip to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland (which quickly became a favorite tradition). Life hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve faced every challenge side by side. We’ve celebrated milestones, supported each other through losses, and shared moments of pure joy. Kyle has been Bri’s biggest cheerleader as she earned her associate’s degree and continues toward her bachelor’s, and Bri has been Kyle’s unwavering champion as his screenplays placed at the Austin Film Festival — even joining him there in 2024 to celebrate the dream together. Our adventures took us to Mackinac Island for our first getaway, which turned out to be so special that Kyle brought Bri back there to propose. He told her they were chasing a sunset — classic misdirection — then dropped the line: “We didn’t come here for the sunset.” Cue the ring, the tears, and one secretly conscripted bartender capturing the whole thing like a rom-com director. It was only fitting that the proposal happened on Mackinac Island — the place where our first chapter of adventure began. Now, as we plan the next chapter — our wedding — we’re filled with excitement to celebrate surrounded by the people who’ve loved and supported us. We can’t wait to build a family, create new traditions, and continue celebrating each new chapter ahead. Our story began with one perfect match and a six-hour conversation — and it’s only just getting started.
