JW's POV: On a late summer night in 2018, we were both hanging out with friends downtown on Broadway. A mutual friend (shout-out to our girl Abby Winstead) had already suggested we meet. The opportunity had yet to present itself despite some earlier attempts. Thankfully a trip to the Lexus Lounge for a hockey game (Go Preds!) for Brianna and a trip to Broadway to entertain some in-town guests hosted by JW presented a chance for paths to cross. The rest, as they say, is history. A short time later, it took one date to eat some good tacos and a Predators hockey game (did we already say Go Preds!?) and that was that.

Brianna's POV: It was the day before JW's birthday so I had planned a birthday dinner for the two of us. The night before, JW told me that he had won tickets to something that he wanted to keep a surprise. I, of course, googled all events happening in Nashville that night and came to the obvious conclusion that he had won Meet and Greet Tickets before a Dan and Shay Concert. I told JW this and that I knew what was happening when he asked if I knew what the surprise was going to be and JW ran with that idea since I can't keep a secret and have to find out what surprises are going to be. I assumed we were meeting Dan and Shay at the Bridge Building downtown because that is where the lift dropped us off. When JW wanted to take the elevator to the top of the bridge instead of going in the Bridge Building, I started to get suspicious so I glanced at his pockets and saw nothing so I thought he was just being weird. We got to the top of the bridge and he started walking and saying he wanted to take a moment to look at the sunset, which wasn't too weird for JW to say. Then from my memory he said a few sweet things then was down on one knee. Needless to say I was shocked, thrilled, overjoyed, surprised, happy and ready to say YES! Then sweet JW surprised me with a house full of people to celebrate with us. I assumed my little sister and roommates would be at my parents house but I did not think that some of our closest friends from across the country would also be there to help celebrate. If you have seen the videos of that night then you know from my reaction I had no idea my older sister and her kids were there from Hawaii. It was the best night of my life to date.
