FAQs

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

No there is not. Instead of purchasing gifts, we would like to ask for the biggest gift of all. Contributing to our IVF journey to help us one day make a family. For those of you that did not know, back in 2022 we looked at freezing some eggs as we knew it was something we wanted to do one day but were not sure when. We found out that Bri was in the bottom 2% in woman her age for eggs and follicles and we were told that this is no longer elected but needed. After one collection that was not as great as we were hoping, we decided to make embryos instead as the success rate was higher and each round is a financially and emotionally costly undertaking. That's when we came to our next hurdle. After months and months and months of tests we found out having babies naturally was never in our story. Julian found out he was missing the pipework needed (the Vas), as he was a carrier for cystic fibrosis. After this news, Bri also needed to do genetic testing, and you guessed it, also a carrier for cystic fibrosis. We then had to go through the lengthy process to create a genetic test, specific for both our genes to test our embryos to make sure they were not positive for CF. After a couple rounds of collections, trying to make embryos out of 15 eggs, phasing out from them not growing and then the genetic testing, we were able to freeze 3 of our tiny Julebrios (what we are calling our embryos). We still have a long way to go but we want this with all of our hearts and would be forever grateful for contributions towards building a family.

Question

Answer

YES! We will be going out for dinner the night before the wedding at "York on Lilydale" (138 York Rd, Mount Evelyn VIC 3796) from 6pm, Sunday 2nd of March. This will be a great chance to properly catch up before the BIG DAY! For those that are also able to pull them self out of bed the morning after the wedding, you are also more than welcome to join us for breakfast at 9:30am on Tuesday 4th of March. Breakfast location will depend on numbers. Please let us know if you would like to come to breakfast by Feb 3rd so we can book in a location that will fit everyone.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We understand that some guests may be wondering about whether children are invited to our wedding festivities. While we adore the little ones in our lives, we have decided to make our special day an adults-only affair. We hope you understand our decision and can make arrangements accordingly. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We understand that sharing special moments with loved ones is important, and we want you to feel comfortable and supported on our big day. While we would love to extend the invitation to everyone's plus ones, we have a limited amount of people for the reception. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing a guest unless explicitly indicated on your invitation or Bri and Julian confirm that we can fit them in. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can we come to the ceremony if we are not invited to the reception?

Answer

Unfortunately we do have restrictions to the amount of people for the reception. If you are not on the list for the reception, but would still like to come to the ceremony to watch us get married, we would be more than happy to have you. Please let us know if you want to stay for a drink and some canapés after the ceremony so we can inform the venue to make sure you will be catered for.
