Our Story

Bri POV: I still remember the day I swiped right on Emily on Bumble. I saw this beautiful girl and thought there was absolutely no way she'd match with me. I assumed I'd swipe and never see her again so when we did match, I was completely shocked. Once we started texting, I knew I wanted to meet her, especially after she mentioned she loved all you can eat sushi ahah. Our first date was all you can eat sushi at Japan House in Dallas, TX. The moment I saw Emily walk toward me, I was shook by how pretty she was. She was wearing a blue sweater and jeans, hoop earrings, and her hair down. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life. We got a tuna tower, and she told me about a movie she had watched earlier that day. It was just so easy to talk to her and it was like we had known each other for years. I knew I wanted to keep getting to know her, so much so that I even invited her to go out with me and my friends that night (she said no lol). Two months later, I asked Emily to be my girlfriend with flowers and an edible arrangement before we went bouldering. It was the best decision I ever made in my life. Life has been brighter, fuller, and more joyful with her by my side. She makes me feel so special and loved, and she does everything she can to help make my dreams come true, including my dream proposal under floating lanterns. ---------------------------------------- Emily POV: It all started on January 12th, 2023. Somehow, we were both on Bumble at the same time, we both swiped, and matched. We had our first date at an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, and 2 months later officially started dating. I was in PT school in clinical rotations and Bri was in the process of moving to Arizona to start PA school. We started long-distance for what felt like forever. After I graduated and passed my boards, I made my way to Arizona as well! Being in the same state together was amazing, and as we moved in together, being in the same apartment was even better. I started planning to propose well in advance, searching for the perfect opportunity. I knew I wanted to find a floating lantern festival because she told me it was her dream. After searching and getting everything set up I had the date planned and the party to follow. Bri decided that she was going to try to give me a heart attack and attempted to postpone, cut short, or cancel date night. Eventually, I convinced her to join, and the night could not have gone any better. We were happy with myself, Bri, and Jordi, but of course, we had to add another to our family, Mars. We are now in the planning process of our wedding, and every day I somehow love her more. Our family of 4 may be a little chaotic, but it is filled with so much love. Continuously counting down the days until we get to say "I Do."
