DJ and Brianna first met in college through mutual friends and slowly grew closer until they spent New Year’s Eve 2019 together. The next day, they shared their first kiss and they’ve been inseparable ever since. A few months later, the world shut down, and they suddenly found themselves spending every day together. After graduating in June 2020, Brianna accepted a teaching job in Hong Kong, and thanks to his love of travel (and of Brianna), DJ followed and joined the same school. Their time abroad strengthened their relationship as they navigated a new country, a global pandemic, and big life changes. They learned that whatever challenges came their way, they could handle them together. When they returned home, they knew they wanted to choose each other for every chapter ahead. Meeting each other’s families and friends only deepened that love. In December 2024, DJ planned a surprise proposal during a cruise for his 30th birthday. What Brianna thought were family photos turned into a walk to the ship’s helipad, where their song started playing and DJ got down on one knee. They’ll begin this next chapter with a private elopement and family trip, followed by a joyful celebration with the cherished community that surrounds their love.
