We are making these plans with the hopes that COVID conditions improve by February, but we will need to be flexible with any changes. For Cam's safety, please be fully vaxed from COVID, or wear your mask. Note that there are some mandates in San Francisco.

Question

Where will guests stay

Answer

Bri, Chris, and Cam plan to spend two nights in San Francisco (the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding). Bri and Chris can accommodate a few people in our apartment (either in Cam’s room or you can take our room). There is also a Hilton Hotel directly across the street from our apartment in Foster City (and it has good reviews from Chris's mom). You are welcome to stay in our apartment when we stay in the city if you prefer. Tubby and Shorty will be enjoying the doggie hotel during these few days, so you don't need to worry about sharing a space with the fur kids.

Question

How long is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony itself will probably be less than 10 minutes, as we have both decided on the standard vows. You are welcome to sit or stand during the ceremony (chairs will be provided for everyone). Unfortunately, there is no food or beverage service allowed at City Hall. We can plan to bring waters/snacks in someone's bag, but otherwise we will not have any refreshments available at the venue.

Question

How long will we be at City Hall?

Answer

We should plan to be at City Hall for about 3 hours (9am - noon). We have a balcony in City Hall reserved for one hour. We will take pictures before and after the ceremony, but we will have our dedicated spot on the balcony from 10-11am.

Question

Are pictures/videos allowed in City Hall?

Answer

Yes. Pictures and videos are allowed in City Hall. We have hired a professional photographer to take photos for three hours before/during/after the ceremony so that everyone can enjoy the moment. The photographer may request that during certain poses or certain shots everyone hold off on taking pictures, but she will let us know if/when that happens.

Question

How will we get to and from the hotel for the ceremony?

Answer

Bri and Chris will arrange transportation to take everyone from the hotel to the venue, and then back to the hotel once we are done. The type of transportation will depend on the number of guests planning to attend.

Question

How's the weather?

Answer

TL;DR - bring layers! Don't let the sunny California stereotypes fool you! We do occasionally have cooler, wetter weather in California. Because we are in an extreme drought, we don't anticipate much rain, but just a heads up that our "rainy season" runs from October - February. It isn't rainy compared to the East Coast, but there could be some drizzly days. You should plan to dress in layers, as we have "micro-climates" in the area, and the temperature can vary 10-20 degrees, depending on where you are and when the fog rolls in (the fog is named Karl, btw). It is usually cooler in San Francisco and a bit warmer where we live (Foster City). And by "cooler" we mean 50-60s, and by "warmer" we mean 70s. :) Bri and Chris can provide updates on the expected weather as we get closer to the date.

Question

What is attire for the ceremony?

Answer

Semi-formal/cocktail attire for the ceremony. We will plan to have a dinner the night of the wedding with similar cocktail attire vibes. Our colors for the ceremony are Mauve, emerald green, plum, rose gold, and a light mint green. Google "Chic Paperie Emerald Wedding Colors" for the shades.

Question

What will the day/night of the wedding look like?

Answer

Our wedding will be from 10-11am PT in San Francisco. Bri and Chris will arrange for transportation for everyone, whether or not you stay in the same location as us. The plans the morning of the wedding are still in flux, but will more than likely be used for everyone to get ready for the ceremony. We will be at City Hall from approximately 9am - 12pm. We are currently working with our photographer on our timeline, and will update this section as we know more about how long we will be at the venue. We should plan to be at City Hall from 9am-noon (our photographer is booked for 3 hours). We will probably go back to the hotel to change clothes after the reception, and then Bri and Chris can guide you around the city, eat lunch, etc., or you can choose to go your own way and explore, eat, or just chill at the hotel. The afternoon is yours! We would love to have everyone for a wedding night dinner, but of course, you are free to do your own thing at any time.

Question

Will the ceremony be on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person?

Answer

We won't have an official zoom set up, but anyone who attends in person can facetime or zoom with others if they choose.

Question

Are there other participants in the wedding?

Answer

Because we don't yet know who all will be able to attend, we are not currently planning to have a wedding party. Baby Cam may be walking (or wobbling - he will be a few weeks shy of his first birthday) by the time of our wedding, so he might be walking down the aisle with Mom or Dad if he doesn't want to sit down with our guests. If anyone is attending and wants to be a part of the ceremony (nieces want to walk down as flower girls, etc.), we will gladly add them to the ceremony. We want our ceremony to be casual, intimate, and inclusive for all who want to participate.
