How did we meet? How did we meet?

Part I: Alan & Bree met in 2009 during their Freshman year of High School. Fast forward to 2011, one summer weekend before junior year - Bree noticed Alan & his dad walking out of Shop Rite while Bree & her mom were pulling out of the parking lot to leave. In perfect high school fashion, Bree texted Alan, “I see you ;)” and thus started the story of us. They texted every single day, continuing into when school started. They shared flirtatious glances in the hallways & out on the soccer fields during practices, and went on their first date together at the movies. When the movie had ended and they were both waiting in the lobby of the theater for their parents to pick them up, Alan asked Bree to be his homecoming date. They attended their first homecoming dance together, and then finally, the week after the dance, Alan officially asked Bree to be his girlfriend on October 3, 2011. Alan and Bree shared 4 school dances together - 2 homecomings & both their jr. and sr. proms over the next 2 years. After graduating in 2013, Bree chose to live on campus at USciences, while Alan commuted to Temple. At this point, we decided that splitting up was best to allow each of us to get our “full college experience”, as tough as that was. We remained friendly throughout the years. Part II: Fast forwarding again - this time to the tail-end of summer in 2020. Alan and Bree had both graduated from their colleges a few years ago and are now dealing with the effects from the COVID-19 pandemic. Bree’s been laid-off & unemployed for a few months now, while Alan is still crushing it as a Personal Trainer. He knows Bree does photography on the side, so he asks Bree to take action shots / videos of him doing some workouts that he would later share with his clients. After the shoot was finished, to Bree’s surprise, Alan suggested that the two of them should hangout together that night. Bree always thought Alan was STILL the most kind & sweet boy she’s ever met, even after 7 years of being apart. So she thought, what the heck, and gave this a chance. Bree walked through that same door of Alan’s house that she had walked in so many times before, & was happily greeted by Alan and Mr. & Mrs. Cavalieri. It was as if time stood still. By the time the night was over & the bottle of wine was empty, we had gotten as far as we could to almost beating the entire game of “Crash Bash” in one sitting. As we sat on the floor in Alan’s childhood playroom, we talked about how life has been & shared tears of laughter and sadness. We also discovered that both of us had kept every single love letter we ever wrote to each other in high school. For both of us, all of those old feelings came rushing back, and it was like no time at all had passed since we’d last dated. Everything felt exactly the same as where we left off in our relationship from 7 years ago - the only change in this once oh-so-familiar night was the addition of an alcoholic beverage. We spent the rest of the summer together. Alan officially asked Bree to be his girlfriend, again, on October 3, 2020 - the same day we started dating in High School, 9 years before. 2 years later, we closed on our first home together on October 3, 2022. And now for our 5-year anniversary, Bree will be changing her last name on October 3, 2025. • This is just the beginning of our story. We are so excited to share the next chapter of our October 3rds with you. With Love, Alan & Bree #ToCavAndToHold
