Brianna and Mathew’s love story began as all good love stories do: with a “swipe right.” He was the first one to reach out, complimenting her on the bird perched on her shoulder in one of her pictures (RIP Skittles, the ultimate wingbird). After discussing their mutual love of Disney IPs and stalking each other on their social media accounts, Brianna and Mathew met for their first date at Uno’s Pizzeria and Grill in Wilbraham, MA. The date went so well that, against all the advice her true crime podcasts had given her, Brianna agreed to let Mathew take her to a secondary location. They went for a walk around Forest Park, and met there for several more dates over the next few weeks.

There was no doubt in Brianna’s mind that Mathew was her future husband, and she was thrilled in mid-2023 when he took her computer and switched her grad school work to a wedding ring website. Mathew spent most of the fall and winter of 2023 successfully thwarting Brianna’s numerous attempts to figure out when and where he was going to propose. On December 22, 2023, Mathew took Brianna on a date to “look at the Christmas decorations” in Blue Back Square. After plying her with books and cheesecake, Mathew took Brianna to a picturesque gazebo and told her that he had found their annual Christmas ornament. On one side, a photo of them both. On the other, a map of where they were at the moment with the words, “Where She Said Yes.” He got down on one knee, she cried tears of joy, their family members poured out of various hiding spots around them, and the rest is history.
