FAQs

Question

COVID UPDATES?

Answer

We all know that COVID is still alive and sadly active. For all guests, we recommend taking a covid test 24-48 hours before the event. Masks will be required for everyone!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is August 12th. You can complete the RSVP online under our tab labeled “RSVP.”

Question

Is the RSVP important?

Answer

The RSVP is very important! Not only does it allow us to have a seat saved just for you, but it also allows us to know what you will like to have for dinner! We will operate strictly off of the RSVP list.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be semi-formal. Cocktail dresses or nice jumpsuits are a great option! You can also wear a nice suit or blazer with dress pants. No jeans or sneakers, please!

Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will be at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens followed by the reception at The Farrell. The address for both locations is located under the “Travel” tab.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors!

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking is free and on-site at the ceremony venue. Due to limited parking space at the reception hall, we recommend carpooling or walking from a nearby hotel reservation. We have recommended hotels that are less than a 3 minute's walk away in our “Travel” portion of the website.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive thirty minutes to an hour before the start of the ceremony. Due to many reasons, if you are not sitting by the time the ceremony starts, you will not be able to partake in the ceremony. We’ll enjoy you at the reception instead!

Question

Are we having an open bar or a cash bar?

Answer

We are having an open bar! Please do bring cash to tip the bartender! Remember to please drink responsibly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we request that the ceremony and reception be for adults only. If you have a special case, reach out to us but please understand we may still say no to the kiddos.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We will be having an “un-plugged” ceremony. No phones or personal photography will be allowed at the wedding ceremony. But… we encourage guests to take pictures and videos at the reception!

Question

What is an “Un-Plugged” ceremony?

Answer

An unplugged wedding ceremony is where the couple requests that guests put away cell phones, cameras, and any other devices in order for them to be present in the moment.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered here on Zola. You will be able to find the registry under the tab labeled “Registry.” Some of the items can be bought directly from Zola or will direct you to another website to purchase. We also have options to donate financially through Zola as well.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

You can contact the bride’s mother, Dethur Buck, by email (deesirbuck@gmail.com) if you have any further questions.
