I was walking to the bathroom at work 1 day, decked out in my bulky safety glasses, facemask, and other PPE, & he yelled across the building, "Hey! I like that band!" To which I responded, "Thank you!" & immediately thought I hoped I never saw him again cuz that was embarrassing... Buuuuutttt...his locker was by the time clock & he caught me 1 day, talking about music. We'd introduced ourselves, but nothing much else. He proceeded to periodically yell, "Hi Melinda!" when I walked by, which always confused me. I finally caught him to correct him, & he told me he liked my name better lol. Shortly after all of this, I said "Hi" to him on facebook, we started chatting, and then he invited me over to meet his dog...and I kind of just kept coming over, till he started telling me that I should stop leaving. So, thanks, DevilDriver, and Phoenix, too, for hooking it up. We love you guys :)
Jamie cannot keep a secret, and he has a big mouth, so I knew he was going to propose. I mean, like, he told his daughters in front of me before he ever asked me, that we were going to get married big mouth. I also knew that he'd been looking at rings, so I had already nudged him in the right direction on that front ;) So, on March 10th, 2022, we were home, experiencing internet issues, which is more frequent of an issue than it should be. Jamie went to the spare room to reset the router. He came back out & asked me if the internet was back up yet? I told him it wasn't, so he asked me to go see if my magic touch would help. I was in the middle of trying to do something on my phone with the 4g, so I grumbled at him that he should have been able to do it, but went in there anyway. I noticed that the router was completely unplugged, so was yelling to ask if he knew he didn't even plug it back in? Suddenly he was behind me, pointing my attention to the 1 of the antennae on the router, where my ring was hanging & I hadn't even noticed! I turned around, and he grabbed it & got down on 1 knee & proposed. I busted out laughing, told him he was such a dork! And said "yes." This was a very Jamie way to ask me, and will always be a treasured memory for us both. :)
