FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brianna Davis and Jonathan Lizardi
Question

Where will the Ceremony & Reception take place?

Answer

Our celebration will take place at a private property in La Tijera, just outside Guadalajara — a place deeply tied to our family history and love story. C. José Guadalupe Gallo 21 La Tijera, Jalisco 45640 México

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) Approximately 45 minutes from our celebration location.

Question

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to México?

Answer

Passport required. No visa needed for U.S. citizens traveling for short stays.

Question

What’s the best way to get around once we’re there?

Answer

Uber is by far the easiest and most reliable way to get around Guadalajara, and we strongly recommend using it whenever possible. Renting a car is also an option if you prefer more flexibility, but keep in mind that traffic and parking can be challenging, especially during busy hours and in popular areas. Taxis are available, but for comfort, consistency, and convenience, Uber will be your best bet.

Question

What should I expect when I land in Guadalajara?

Answer

Immigration line (can be 5–20 minutes) Baggage claim A small customs checkpoint Uber pickup zone is outside the main terminal ATMs available inside the airport if you need pesos Don’t worry — it’s very straightforward, and airport staff are helpful. Tip: You’ll usually get the best rate at a bank ATM (Banorte, BBVA, Santander). Avoid the currency exchange kiosks.

Question

What are CBX steps again? (If flying through Tijuana)

Answer

Flying from Tijuana is often the most affordable option for guests traveling from Southern California. CBX is a pedestrian bridge that connects directly from San Diego to the Tijuana airport. How it works: Buy a CBX ticket online or at the counter Check in for your flight (online or at the CBX terminal) Walk across the enclosed bridge directly into the TIJ airport Go through Mexican immigration (quick + easy) Head to your gate and fly to Guadalajara On the way home, return through CBX back into the U.S. Many travelers prefer TJ → GDL for lower fares and faster airport processing.

Question

Is there a hotel room block or recommended place to stay?

Answer

Our recommended hotels are listed under the Travel tab for easy access.

Question

How far are the hotels from the celebration location?

Answer

Nearby hotels: 10–25 minutes Guadalajara city center: 35–90 minutes, traffic dependent

Question

Should I stay near the celebration location or in Guadalajara city center?

Answer

Both are great — it really depends on your vibe. Near the Celebration Location: Closer to the events, shorter travel times, and easier logistics. Quieter area and fewer nearby city hotspots. Guadalajara City Center: Closer to restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Expect longer and less predictable travel to the celebration, traffic can range from 30 minutes to over an hour depending on time of day.

Question

What time should I arrive at the wedding?

Answer

The celebration begins at 3:00 pm. We recommend arriving right at that time so you can get settled, enjoy drinks and light bites, and be fully present before the ceremony begins shortly after. Arriving on time helps everything flow smoothly and ensures you don’t miss a moment.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding & events?

Answer

Wedding Day Cocktail attire — colorful, expressive, and comfortable. Tornaboda (After Party) Poolside casual — swimsuits, cover-ups, sandals, relaxed clothing.

Question

Is the celebration location outdoors?

Answer

Mostly outdoors, with shaded and covered areas available.

Question

What events should I plan to attend during the wedding weekend?

Answer

Friday, October 16 — Main Event Wedding Ceremony & Reception 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM The full experience — our festival of love. Ceremony, music, food, and a 12-hour celebration on sacred family grounds. Saturday, October 17 — Day Two Wave “La Tornaboda” — Post-Wedding Pool Party A recovery-meets-celebration hangout. Think sunshine, water, snacks, and good vibes only. OPTIONAL EVENTS (NO RSVP REQUIRED) Optional events have no formal schedule — come as you are. Thursday, October 15 — Soft Landing Hangout We’ll be at the house getting settled and easing into the weekend. If you arrive early and want to stop by, decompress, or catch the pre-festival energy, swing through — doors open, vibes easy. Not an official event, just a warm welcome ripple. Sunday, October 18 — Choose-Your-Own Adventure For anyone still in town, we may do a casual outing or explore around Guadalajara. Nothing structured — just a little bonus side quest for whoever wants to keep the wave rolling. Check in with Bri or Jon if you’re interested.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

Expect a warm, abundant, festival-style dining experience. Food will be served throughout the night, with late-night bites to keep the energy going.

Question

How do I RSVP and when is the deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 1, 2026 using the link on this website.

Question

Where is the Tornaboda and what should I expect?

Answer

Tornaboda will be a relaxed poolside hang at the same location — basically a low-key pool party to wind down together after the wedding. We’ll have music playing, space to swim and lounge, the racquetball court open, and a few fun things around (including at least one inflatable situation). Food will be simple and satisfying — the kind of stuff you want the day after a big night. There’s no formal schedule and no pressure — just come as you are, share stories, soak up the sun, and enjoy one more day together before the weekend drifts away.

Answer

Yes — just make sure to include them when submitting your RSVP.

Answer

Zola lets you check in everyone in your party under one submission.

Question

What should I pack for Guadalajara?

Answer

Comfortable shoes Light, breathable clothes Something warm for evenings Bathing suit for the Tornaboda Sunscreen Portable fan (if you run warm) Pesos or a debit card for ATM withdrawals A copy of your passport (just in case) Optional but helpful: – Electrolytes – Small day bag – Light jacket for evenings

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Typically warm during the day, cooler at night. We’ll update as we get closer.

Question

Do I need pesos or can I use my card?

Answer

Most places accept cards, but having some pesos is helpful for smaller purchases and tips. Uber is widely used and best paid through the app. For cash, use ATMs attached to major banks (BBVA, Santander, Banorte) and avoid currency exchange kiosks, which typically have the worst rates.

Question

WHICH ATMs SHOULD I USE?

Answer

ATM fees vary by bank and machine, and the fee will always be shown before you complete the transaction. We recommend using ATMs attached to major Mexican banks, which tend to be the most reliable and transparent: BBVA Santander Banorte Whenever possible, use an ATM located inside or directly outside a bank branch for the best experience.

Question

WHICH ATMs SHOULD I AVOID?

Answer

We recommend avoiding the following, as they often charge significantly higher fees and offer worse exchange rates: Scotiabank HSBC Citibanamex Standalone or private ATMs (such as those in convenience stores, bars, clubs, or tourist kiosks) These machines can charge much more than the typical ~30 peso fee and are more likely to hit you with unfavorable conversion rates.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Of course. Feel free to capture moments whenever it feels right to you — during the ceremony, the party, or anywhere in between. We’re just excited to celebrate together and see the day through everyone’s eyes.

Question

Will there be a photographer?

Answer

Yes — no need to stress. Enjoy yourself!

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Your presence truly is the gift. If you’d like to contribute in another way, you’ll find options on our Zola Registry, or you’re always welcome to bring a card on the day.

Question

I still have questions — how do I reach you?

Answer

Feel free to text or call either of us anytime. If you need quick clarity, don’t hesitate to reach out.
