Our celebration will take place at a private property in La Tijera, just outside Guadalajara — a place deeply tied to our family history and love story. C. José Guadalupe Gallo 21 La Tijera, Jalisco 45640 México
Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) Approximately 45 minutes from our celebration location.
Passport required. No visa needed for U.S. citizens traveling for short stays.
Uber is by far the easiest and most reliable way to get around Guadalajara, and we strongly recommend using it whenever possible. Renting a car is also an option if you prefer more flexibility, but keep in mind that traffic and parking can be challenging, especially during busy hours and in popular areas. Taxis are available, but for comfort, consistency, and convenience, Uber will be your best bet.
Immigration line (can be 5–20 minutes) Baggage claim A small customs checkpoint Uber pickup zone is outside the main terminal ATMs available inside the airport if you need pesos Don’t worry — it’s very straightforward, and airport staff are helpful. Tip: You’ll usually get the best rate at a bank ATM (Banorte, BBVA, Santander). Avoid the currency exchange kiosks.
Flying from Tijuana is often the most affordable option for guests traveling from Southern California. CBX is a pedestrian bridge that connects directly from San Diego to the Tijuana airport. How it works: Buy a CBX ticket online or at the counter Check in for your flight (online or at the CBX terminal) Walk across the enclosed bridge directly into the TIJ airport Go through Mexican immigration (quick + easy) Head to your gate and fly to Guadalajara On the way home, return through CBX back into the U.S. Many travelers prefer TJ → GDL for lower fares and faster airport processing.
Our recommended hotels are listed under the Travel tab for easy access.
Nearby hotels: 10–25 minutes Guadalajara city center: 35–90 minutes, traffic dependent
Both are great — it really depends on your vibe. Near the Celebration Location: Closer to the events, shorter travel times, and easier logistics. Quieter area and fewer nearby city hotspots. Guadalajara City Center: Closer to restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Expect longer and less predictable travel to the celebration, traffic can range from 30 minutes to over an hour depending on time of day.
The celebration begins at 3:00 pm. We recommend arriving right at that time so you can get settled, enjoy drinks and light bites, and be fully present before the ceremony begins shortly after. Arriving on time helps everything flow smoothly and ensures you don’t miss a moment.

Tornaboda will be a relaxed poolside hang at the same location — basically a low-key pool party to wind down together after the wedding. We’ll have music playing, space to swim and lounge, the racquetball court open, and a few fun things around (including at least one inflatable situation). Food will be simple and satisfying — the kind of stuff you want the day after a big night. There’s no formal schedule and no pressure — just come as you are, share stories, soak up the sun, and enjoy one more day together before the weekend drifts away.

Most places accept cards, but having some pesos is helpful for smaller purchases and tips. Uber is widely used and best paid through the app. For cash, use ATMs attached to major banks (BBVA, Santander, Banorte) and avoid currency exchange kiosks, which typically have the worst rates.
ATM fees vary by bank and machine, and the fee will always be shown before you complete the transaction. We recommend using ATMs attached to major Mexican banks, which tend to be the most reliable and transparent: BBVA Santander Banorte Whenever possible, use an ATM located inside or directly outside a bank branch for the best experience.
We recommend avoiding the following, as they often charge significantly higher fees and offer worse exchange rates: Scotiabank HSBC Citibanamex Standalone or private ATMs (such as those in convenience stores, bars, clubs, or tourist kiosks) These machines can charge much more than the typical ~30 peso fee and are more likely to hit you with unfavorable conversion rates.
Of course. Feel free to capture moments whenever it feels right to you — during the ceremony, the party, or anywhere in between. We’re just excited to celebrate together and see the day through everyone’s eyes.
Yes — no need to stress. Enjoy yourself!
