Cades Cove is an isolated valley located in the Tennessee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All of the historical settlements from when this land was initially settled are still standing, and are open for everyone to explore. Some of our favorites are John Oliver's Cabin, Abrams Falls, and all of the wildlife still in the park.
The Clingmans Dome hike is fully-paved and only half a mile. However, the steep gradient combined with the high altitude may make the hike too strenuous for the elderly. At the summit, hikers are greeted with incredible views of the Smoky Mountains National Park below them.
Tuckaleechee Caverns of Townsend, TN. Known as the “Greatest Site Under the Smokies” are the highest rating Cave or Cavern of the Eastern United States. Carved inside the earth’s oldest mountain chain and estimated to be between twenty to thirty million years old, the Caverns are rich in history and lore in recent years as well. You will find the “BigRoom” on one end of the tour that could almost fit a football stadium inside it. On the other half of the tour you get to view “SilverFalls”. It falls 210 feet from top to bottom and the tallest subterranean waterfall in the Eastern US .
