Illinois State Fair
The Illinois State Fair is going on from August 7th - August 17th! Walk around and see all Illinois has to offer. Some of Will & Bri's favs includes the butter cow (yes it is made entirely of butter), Vose's corndogs, the beer tent, and riding the sky glider.
Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
Immerse yourself in history! Springfield is the home of honest Abe. This museum is well worth the visit. Fun fact: Bri and Will both had grade school field trips to this museum.
Brickhouse Grill & Pub
Springfield is famous for their horseshoes and this is Bri & Will's favorite spot to eat them. What is a horseshoe you ask? Deliciousness. This sports bar is a great spot for a quick meal or to catch a game.
Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery
Try a flight of microbrewed beers, brewed on-site, then stay for lunch or dinner at this Italianate mansion in downtown Springfield. Obed & Isaac’s is a local favorite for great food, fun and friends. Bri and Will prefer enjoying the outdoor patio in the Summer time.
Pease's at Bunn Gourmet
If you are looking for the best desserts in Springfield, this is the place to visit! This cafe offers coffee, artisan chocolates, cocktails, and a wide breakfast and lunch menu. Bri recommends you try the cheesecake. Fun fact: Bunn is Will's employer and he is proud to get a 10% discount every time they visit.
Bunn Golf Course
Our favorite golf course in the city and sponsored by Will's employer. Public course in great condition and reasonably priced. We are still searching for our first ever birdie, but hey, next round it may happen!
