Like many kids in college, Ryan and Bri's love story involved a game of beer pong. In fact, it began with one when Ryan approached Bri in the Kappa Sigma chapter hall thinking she was the sister of one of his fraternity brothers. Like a good wing man, Jay T said something to the effect of "nope, not my sister, your new beer pong partner" and walked away handing Ryan the ball. After defeating their unfortunate opponents, they wandered off in separate directions both hoping they would see each other again. Ryan returned to his co-op in Birmingham, AL and Bri continued on with her first semester at Georgia Tech. But this was only the beginning...

After that fateful beer pong game, Ryan and Bri ran into each other a few times at various Ga Tech and Fraternity events. Their official first date was the Dec 2016 Kappa Sig semi-formal where they unintentionally matched :) They officially started dating in Jan 2017 and then began years of steak date nights, costume parties, traveling, video games, and LOTS of midnight ordered pizza. Once they were both graduated, they did long distance where Bri worked and lived in NC and Ryan was in GA. Neither of them were a fan of this arrangement, so after several months they decided that Ryan would move up to NC with Bri, yay!

After living together for almost 2 years, Bri was starting to wonder when something sparkly would come into the picture. Little did she know that Ryan was already planning. The original plan was upended by an unfortunately timed work trip and an even more unfortunate case of COVID. Luckily he had a backup. They had a ski trip planned to Lake Tahoe with some grade school friends of Ryan's. This was his moment. He planned a romantic walk on the shores of Lake Tahoe early Saturday morning under the guise of brunch. Standing next to the water and the mountains, Ryan popped the question. Elated and crying, Bri said "YES!!!". This was the beginning of their happily ever after.
