There are many beautiful areas near us.
For shops and walking around please check out Rockport, Ma or Newburyport, MA both are about 25 mins away from Ipswich.

In Rockport there's Halibut Point State park for gorgeous views of the ocean and coast line. 
In Newburyport there are cute shops and a board walk that is next to the Merrimac River.

In Ipswich please check out Pavilion or Cranes Beach, Also Plum Island is a pretty spot. There are shops and restaurants in the downtown area and a cute walking path through the town.
