We would recommend going here to "pre-game" before the wedding. It is walking distance to the wedding venue and has a great patio.
We met for a drink at Oak Bottom Brewery for our first date. Things were going well so we decided to make our way across the street to PDX Sliders for dinner. Hank witnessed Bri devouring a slider and getting sauce all over her face. That's how he knew she was the one.
This is one of our favorite restaurants for a special occasion. The husband-and-wife duo are James Beard award-wining chefs and their Argentinean-inspired NW fare is out of this world.
Mississippi Ave. is where Bri lived when she met Hank. Its a fun and quirky street with restaurants, bars, breweries, shopping, food carts and even a music venue. This is one of the best streets for patio hopping too! Here are some of Bri's favorite spots - Psychic Bar for cocktails, Stormbreaker Brewery for a cold beer, Mississippi Studios for a concert, Bar Bar for their awesome patio, Por Que No for tacos, Prost! Marketplace for their German brew pub but mainly for their outdoor food cart pod with many types of cuisine represented so a win-win for everyone.
Bri and bulldog Ur'ls favorite brunch spot. Dogs are allowed here and the food is delicious.
This is a shared favorite brunch spot of ours!
This was Bri's first neighborhood when she moved to Portland in 2015. NW 23rd also has many restaurants, bars and shopping. While you are down this way, we also recommend heading into the Pearl District or making your way up to Washington Park.
Some of our favorite attractions in Washington Park are the International Rose Test Garden and the Japanese Gardens. While you are here, you can hike in Forest Park and go up to Pittock Mansion for the best view of Portland and Mount Hood on a clear day.
This is a trendy spot for cocktails and blended drinks. Their menu is Cuban-inspired. The main attraction is the giant wall mural on the side of the building where the woman's hair is made of 1,000 living wall plants.
Once an elementary school and now converted into a 35-guest room hotel, brewery, four bars, a restaurant, movie theater and soaking pool. McMenamins establishments give a wacky dive-bar feel. We came here on one of our early dates and we have been going to McMenamins all over Oregon and Washington ever since. We even have McMenamins passports.
This is a rooftop restaurant and bar with downtown views on top of The Nines hotel. Upscale asian fusion cuisineand eclectic cocktails. There is also a separate vegan menu for our vegan friends out there.
The first restaurant Bri visited in Portland when she was here for a conference in 2014 and still near and dear to her heart. If you are looking to get your Oregon Coast seafood fix on, this place does not disappoint.
This cute restaurant in the Pearl District is one of Bri's favorites. The menu is meant to be shared so you get to try all sorts of deliciousness!
We can't say enough great things about Stoller! Their grounds, tasting experience and staff are wonderful. We definitely recommend a trip if you find yourself in wine country.
It was love at first sip for us when we went to Furioso Vineyards for the first time. We loved it so much we became wine club members and make frequent trips to enjoy the tasting room. Their modern style tasting room has floor to ceiling windows so even on a rainy day, you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley.
If you venture out to the Columbia River Gorge, we recommend crossing the Bridge of the Gods to the Washington side and visiting Hawkins Cellars. We met their winemaker at a wine festival and were immediately hooked on their wines. We are also wine club members here and enjoy sitting outside their tasting room and enjoy the view of Mount Hood on a clear day.
When we first were dating, we bonded over our love for Marchesi. The ambiance of their outdoor tasting area is very relaxing and you can totally wear yoga pants. They're popular for their deeper Italian reds. If you make a trip out to the Columbia River Gorge, we recommend a stop at Marchesi.
This magnificent and memorable waterfall is located along the Columbia River Gorge and is a must-see if you are heading out that way. There are plenty of hiking trails around and you can even hike to the top of the falls if you're feeling adventurous.
While you're out in the Columbia River Gorge, stop by this brewery along the Columbia River for great beer and food.
