Mankato 2009, a new Rounder’s girl (me) caught Greg’s eye but his wallet was not thrilled as I always charged him full price for his whiskey. We flirted at the bar, in PCB for Spring Break, and throughout the years but went our separate ways. Fast forward some years, I was back from my CO adventures when Greg took notice again. This time he asked me out where I met up with him & the guys at the oh-so-classy establishment of Cowboy Jacks! It was a great night; Greg pursued his first kiss, which lead to more dates & eventually asking to me being his girlfriend. Together we tackled new experiences, meeting families & moving into our townhouse. We loved our townhouse but realized quickly it was best to update our surroundings. After looking at lots of homes, I pitched the idea of building a house! He thought I had lost my mind, but we met the builder. Some people thought we were a “little nuts,” & we heard, "this would make or break but if we could get through this, we could get through anything!" Welp, good thing we like to prove people wrong because we made ALL decisions together AND it was smooth sailing baby! Dec. was our first Christmas in the house & Greg had placed a set of wrapped presents under the tree. I was thrown off by the size of the presents. I was a bit nervous to open them because ALL I had asked for was a puppy! Christmas morning came & it was perfect; the sun shining, coffee was hot, just us two! He opened his presents & liked them but moved on quickly (you know Greg, overly emotional, so not thrown by this). My turn, as I opened the odd sized box, a smaller box fell out along with a handwritten note that simply said, “Will You?” Before I knew what was going on, Greg was in front of me, on his knee, with the ring box in his hand, asking me to marry him! After it clicked what was happening, I jumped up off the couch, into his arms & said “YES!”
