Banner Elk will be the most ideal spot for things to do! The wedding venue is 15 minutes from downtown Banner Elk and 5 minutes from Beech Mountain. Feel free to stay where you prefer, but (besides the wedding itself) most things will be happening in Banner Elk. There is not as much to do in Beech Mountain that time of the year with more limited options. The bride and groom will be staying in Banner Elk.
Please refer to the TRAVEL section at the top of the website for all your options! The main research has been done to decrease your time for booking a spot! When booking your own cabin, you can use LP on Main address for the distance to downtown Banner Elk and Overlook Barn address for the distance to the wedding spot. If you are looking for a larger cabin to share with other guests, talk to other folks you know that are going and refer to the list of home rental options. They rent small cabins too! Yes. Of course, this will be weather permitting. Though we are fully confident it will be a beautiful day, here is the plan. An outdoor ceremony in the grassy area. There will be seats ! *If for any reason a change needs to be made, we have a plan B. You will not be standing in the inclement weather. However, plan B will not be a heated venue. There potentially may not be enough chairs for everyone **The venue is just slightly spread out, so you will have to walk a short distance to the reception location. You will not be covered by anything.

No. This is an indoor reception. Though, there will likely be open doors around the venue. In the evening there could be a slight chill, so maybe pack something to keep warm. Or check the weather : ). This will be an open style reception with freedom to move around, but there will be plenty of seats! *The venue is just slightly spread out. You will have to walk a short distance to the reception location.
Well it is us gang : )! This will be open bar with non-alcoholic options, beer, wine, and liquor. Though, we would appreciate anyone who wants to carry some cash for tipping the hardworking bartenders! (they better be)

A. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! These are mountain roads!!!! They are not as easy to navigate as normal driving (especially at night & after a few drinks) B. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO LEAVE YOUR CAR BEHIND, IF YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO. The venue prefers people to be safe and just wants all cars picked up by 10AM-11AM the next day.

YES! Once you are onsite at Overlook Barn, you will not have to leave until it is time to go home. We must all be gone from the venue by 11pm
