Our passion for all things geek brought us together as volunteers for the second annual OmegaCon convention in Charlottesville, VA. We did not work closely together at the time, but the event would eventually lead us to spending more time together and talking more, playing games and working at other similar events through our time knowing one another.

After around four years of dating, and during one of the volunteer gaming events MAGFest that had become a yearly staple of our lives, Brian decided to pop the question early one morning in the much coveted Gaylord National Harbor Gazebo. The guise was "let's get a picture in the Gazebo before you start your shift, and before cosplayers take over," which turned into a very meaningful and heartfelt proposal in the 7:30 am sunlight filtering through the harbor-facing windows. We are still thankful to Best Man Bennett Toms for being there to catch the moment, and for the kind strangers in costume passing by who clapped for us.
