Sierra's version of "How we met"

June 1, 2019

After hanging out at the pool all day with some friends, everyone wanted to go out, except for me. After much convincing from my friends, Allie and Alex, I very reluctantly got dressed and decided I would go, but insisted that if I went, Coco would come with me. One of our friends, Sam, who was at the pool with us that day, wanted to stop by his house to change clothes before going out. We all went with him and planned to grab an Uber from his house since it was much closer to the bars we were going to. I didn't know Sam super well at the time, he was a friend of a friend I was with that day. I'd never been to his house, and I was told he had a roommate. Sam texted Brian to tell him we were coming over, and invited him to go out with us. At the time, I thought nothing of it. I walked in holding Coco, and saw Brian, and immediately thought, "oh, he's cute! Is that the roommate?" But I kept my thoughts to myself. While waiting for Sam to get dressed, we all chatted and hung out in the living room. There was a disc golf tournament playing on the living room TV, which of course I knew nothing about, but the guys chatted over the tournament. I used the bathroom before leaving and thought "Wow, this guy keeps his bathroom pretty clean." I was even more intrigued. Finally, we all went out to a couple of bars, where I tried so hard to have a conversation with Brian. I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn't tell if he was interested. I kept trying anyway. Eventually we played corn hole together, where I chatted his ear off. He ended up giving me his number written on a piece of toilet paper, where I finally learned that he was interested all along. We went on our first date 2 days later at El Alma, and then spent nearly everyday together after that.

Brian's version of "How we met"

I was bumming around the house on a summer Saturday afternoon when my friend and roommate Sam called to ask if I wanted to grab a drink with him and some friends. I wasn’t sold on the idea until he said they were coming by the house first and I wouldn’t have to arrange my own transportation. Maybe 20 minutes later a handful of people walked in, most notably a beautiful brunette named Sierra, wearing a green romper and carrying her small white dog, Coco. We were quickly introduced before squeezing into an Uber to go out for beers and games. Sierra and I didn’t talk much until we were matched up to play corn hole. The game was taking a long time, and I felt bad that she was stuck at one end of the bar with me for the duration - I figured she preferred to hang out with the friends she came with and was just being polite. It wasn’t until after the game ended and we went to the bar together that I figured she might be into me. We soon forgot about the friends we came with - they could entertain themselves - and spent the next couple of hours talking. It got late and my brain wasn’t operating at 100% capacity, so I borrowed a pen and scribbled my name and number on piece of toilet paper. Sierra sent me a text the next morning and we immediately planned our first real date for the following day. Within weeks we had fallen in love and were spending nearly every moment together. It’s been 3 years since I got so lucky - my future wife just walked through my front door.

The Proposal- From Sierra's perspective

May 14, 2022

Just like we met, it started with a toilet paper note from Brian. One Saturday morning, I woke up to Brian heading out the door with his disc gold bag in one hand and coco in the other. He left pretty abruptly and didn’t say much to me that morning, which was odd. I found the note, instructing me what to do that day. Head to the nail salon for a manicure appointment, pack an overnight bag, wear something cute, and meet at an unknown address. I found Brian & coco at the cutest, private, backyard oasis in Dripping Springs, waiting for me with a beautiful ring. And I said yes!

The Elopement

We eloped on Makua (Tunnels) beach in the north shore of Kaua’i! We had a beautiful sunrise ceremony, just the two of us. We can’t wait to share more pictures soon!
