We found each other on Christian Mingle in December of 2016. Uncertain of what to expect, we set our first date for New Year's Eve in New York City. And wow, what joy the New Year brought both of us. It was Brian's first time in NYC and we were both a little nervous to say the least. We laid eyes on each other at the 3 West Club on 5th ave and 51st street. The elevator doors parted and Brian stepped out, looking very sharp, in a suit and tie. This date was not to be taken lightly. Wide eyed and excited, I grabbed his hand and said, "Let's go!" We visited St. Patrick's Cathedral together, we had endless conversation over tea and several meals through out the day. When it got close to midnight, instead of a New Year kiss, he gave me the freshness of his mother's garden. He pulled out a bag with huge sweet potatoes, canned beets and relish. I knew at that moment my father would approve of him.
