Is Oakland safe?

Answer

YES! (Mostly). We always joke this city needs a better PR agent. Neither of us have been involved in an incident where we felt unsafe or threatened. And the community here is incredibly warm, welcoming and wildly eclectic. With that said, Oakland is a city, so take all your typical city safety precautions. Can't wait for you to enjoy for yourself!

What about car break-ins?

Touché! The Bay Area leads the league in bips (car window smash-n-grabs). DO NOT have any bags, luggage, or personal items visible in your car when you park.

Should I get a rental car?

Answer

Totally up to you. Tons of rides available via Lyft, Uber. And everything we will be hosting is within 20 minutes driving of each other.

Should I get an AirBnb or Hotel?

Answer

We put suggestions of Hotels and Neighborhoods for home rentals in the "Where to Stay" page. In our opinion, the best areas to walk around don't have hotels. But if you need a gym...we're certainly not gonna get in the way of your Peloton streak

Do I need to attend all the events?

Answer

Nope! We wanted to have a number of activities to see guests over the course of the weekend (in case bandwidth is limited). Any presence is a present

What's the weather like?

Answer

September in the Bay is traditionally dry, mild, and amazing. But we do always recommend layers, as the 10 degree temp changes usually catch folks by surprise.

Should we extend our stay?

ABSOLUTELY!!! You made it this far, might as well see San Francisco, Sonoma, Yosemite and all the other attractions here in Northern CA. If you need any travel ideas, reach out to us!
