Our story is a truly unexpected one but one destined to be. It began before we ever met, before we shared our first kiss, even before we ever spoke. Our story begins with a prayer that we both had in common. A prayer that God would reward our weary hearts and bring us each a love that would be true and endure for the rest of our days. It was a Saturday when I decided to join a dating site, dreading the shifting and swiping through endless profiles. Dreading the eventual engagement in countless first introductions, and dreading the colorful facades that everyone presents initially. I kept in mind however, that every journey begins with the first step. One hour in, I came across her profile and she immediately stood out above anyone else to me. It wasn’t just an initial attraction, there was something in her face that spoke to me. I had to learn more about this woman, so I sent a greeting expressing my interest. To my surprise, it was not long before I got a response. We had our first phone conversation on that same day. I was enamored by her voice. I could tell she was smiling through the entire conversation, as was I. I remember it being the easiest conversation I’ve ever had with someone. It was effortless, but also had substance as we dove into the general particulars. My interest was definitely piqued and so I suggested we schedule our first in person meeting about 4 days later. Nicole responded how about in 2 days. Lol, there was no denying our mutual interest. We had our first date on that Monday evening, and she exceeded my every expectation. She continues to do just that with every step we make together on our journey. I have not wanted to be apart from her since. I decided that day, and all the days that follow that I wanted this woman above anything and anyone else in this world. I have pursued her with the level of humility, patience, and intention that she is deserving of. I got off that site and deleted my profile by the second date. Brian
