How We Met: Miranda's Perspective

The one He kept for me

"2019 is my last year single." This was the declaration I made when speaking to some of my closest friends. Did I believe it? YES! But, I had no idea how it would come to fruition. I had NO prospects, but I felt that this was "my year." I was ready and open. On January 3, 2019, I started a journal entitled, "Dear Future Husband." I wrote to the man that I prayed he would be. I referred to our love in the present tense and experienced the emotions as if he was standing right in front of me! I truly believed that God had someone He'd created just for me and that our paths would cross when it was time. On the early morning of Sunday, November 3, 2019, I felt compelled to purchase a new journal and transfer my entries to it. I wanted the presentation to be perfect when I met my "forever love." I went on to church and it was there that I met Brian. After service, our church family had dinner in the fellowship hall. As Brian was a first-time visitor, I introduced myself to him and went on with the day. As I was taking out the trash, Brian saw me coming down the stairs and immediately offered to take the trash for me. We started what seemed to be a casual conversation that very quickly evolved to a moment of fate! We connected in a way that I'd never experienced! It was on that day, in that moment, that I knew I'd met my husband. I gave him my number and hurried on as I had dinner plans later than evening. We agreed that he'd call me at 8:30 PM....To be continued...

How We Met: Brian's Perspective

Before I met my wife, I knew she was out there for me. I just never thought I would meet her the way I did. On Sunday, November 3, 2019, my whole life changed! (AND FOR THE BETTER) On that Friday, November 1st, I was supposed to go to church for service, but I had to work a double shift that night. That had me vexed because I wanted and needed to be in service. I called the pastor, which was my mentor, and advised him that I wouldn't be present. He said that it was cool because I could just make it there on Sunday (the 3rd) for service. On that Sunday, I was ready to feed my spirit with much-needed food. The service was lovely and I truly enjoyed myself. After service, the church was throwing a dinner party for Deacon Williams. During the event, there was time to "meet and greet." And, that's the first time that I laid eyes on Charity. She walked up and introduced herself. From there, I couldn't help but to keep glancing her way. Her spirit was pure and personality pleasant. Towards the end of the gathering, I was standing outside and she came out with large bags of trash. So, I approached her and asked if I could assist her and she obliged. After tossing the trash, I began to ask her questions to get to know her, such as her age and where she's from. Before I knew it, we were in our conversation so deeply that I was in a stupor. It was as if we were the only people there. Truthfully, it was magical. From there I asked for her number and she said I could call her later because she had to leave....
