    Welcome
    Exploring the Queen City

Exploring the Queen City

The Wedding Website of Melissa Zurlinden and Brian Carter
For many of you, this might be your first time visiting the Queen City, as Cincinnati is called. We are excited to share with you a few of our favorite things for you to check out while you are in town. NY Times did 36 hours in Cincinnati in 2017, and while a lot has changed in the city since this article came out, these recs are still spot on (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/08/17/travel/what-to-do-36-hours-in-cincinnati-ohio.html) or this article). This article from Midwest Living (we know you have a subscription already) also has a good list from 2022, but you will see there is a ton of overlap in these lists (https://www.midwestliving.com/travel/ohio/cincinnati/36-hours-cincinnati/).
Skyline Chili

Skyline Chili

643 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

You can't come to Cincinnati and NOT eat Cincinnati Chili. While are are many places that serve this delicacy, if you ask Melissa (and most people) they will say Skyline is the best! This location is the original and where it all started!

Sotto

Sotto

118 East 6th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

One of the best restaurants in Cincinnati - period. Although Brian wouldn't know because Melissa has never taken him. Be sure to make your reservation well ahead of time. If you go, please don't mention it to Brian, as he will be jealous.

The Eagle

The Eagle

1342 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Best fried chicken in Cincinnati. Good food at a good price and it is where the locals eat. You can also make a reservation, which we recommend.

Maplewood Kitchen and Bar

Maplewood Kitchen and Bar

525 Race Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

If it's brunch you're after either Saturday before the wedding or Sunday, then look no further. This is another place where locals eat.

Rhinegeist Brewery

Rhinegeist Brewery

1910 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

You could spend the entire day doing brewery tours (not recommended before the wedding, but feel free to knock yourself out on Friday or Sunday), but if you have to go to only one brewery while in Cincinnati, we recommend you check out Rhinegeist!

Graeter's Ice Cream

Graeter's Ice Cream

1401 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Don't come to Cincinnati and leave without trying Graeter's Ice Cream. Melissa's favorite flavor is the black raspberry chip.

American Sign Museum

American Sign Museum

1330 Monmouth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45225

No clue how both articles missed this gem. This would have probably been our wedding venue if the Cincinnati Art Museum hadn't been available.

ArtWorks

ArtWorks

2460 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45206

Cincinnati has so many interesting and cool murals to see by just walking around Over-the-Rhine, but if you want a more formal tour, you can check out this one from Artworks Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Museum Center

Cincinnati Museum Center

1301 Western Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45203

Still a functioning Amtrak train station, the Cincinnati Museum Center houses not one, not two, but THREE different museums! See the of Museum of Natural History and Science, Cincinnati History Museum, or the Children's Museum, or see all three - just don't miss our wedding (hahaha)

Smale Riverfront Park

Smale Riverfront Park

166 West Mehring Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Given Cincinnati is right along the Ohio River, you don't want to miss an opportunity to stroll along the river and take in the beautiful views of all the many bridges.

Krohn Conservatory

Krohn Conservatory

1501 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202

This place is awesome! It is a huge greenhouse and does seasonal displaces depending on the time of year.

Newport Aquarium

Newport Aquarium

1 Levee Way, Newport, KY 41071

While not technically in Cincinnati, the Newport Aquarium is worth the short trip across the river.

Cincinnati Art Museum

Cincinnati Art Museum

953 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202

While you will all get to see the Cincinnati Art Museum since it is the venue for the wedding, we will note the wedding starts at 5 pm on Sat AFTER the museum is closed to the public; so, to truly see and enjoy our favorite spot in Cincinnati consider visiting at another point during your trip. Best of all - it's free!
