Brian and Maggie first met in 4th grade and had a magnetic yet contentious connection. They would banter and tease each other mercilessly in the classroom, on the playground, and on the internet (specifically, AIM chats and in *blog comments*). They shared early interests in musical luminaries such as Nickelback and Eminem and together, they discovered the thrill of arguing about politics. The prickly friendship continued through middle school and into high school when they both finally admitted they liked each other and dated for the first time. In college, they were thrown back together when Maggie moved in with a few of Brian’s closest friends. At friend hangouts, they gravitated towards each other and the banter and teasing resumed. By the end of college, their connection was undeniable. Since 4th grade, Maggie and Brian haven’t been able to escape each other. Despite going to different middle schools, applying to different colleges, and even living 1,200 miles apart while Brian was in law school, their friendship and love for each other has persisted. They now reside together in the Windy City (subsisting on a diet of deep dish, hot dogs and Malort, probably). Once they realized that no matter what they do or where they go the other one seems to stick around, they’ve decided to make it official.
