It all started in early 2016 when Lindsey’s coworkers asked her to join their intramural volleyball team. Brian, who had previously worked with some of those coworkers, had been playing on the team for years. In the beginning, Brian and Lindsey were just teammates, only hanging out on the court. Fast forward a few months to July when the team got together for a summer party. At Pioneer Bar playing games, Brian and Lindsey hit it off and spent most of the day talking. It didn’t take long before Brian asked Lindsey out for dinner and as they say, the rest was history. Over the next two years, Brian and Lindsey bonded over their love of travel, making trips to New Orleans, Scandinavia, Maine, Mexico, Nashville, Chicago and Munich, Germany.
Brian had planned a day trip for them to drive to an apple orchard outside the city. When they got to the orchard there were families picnicking and kids running around everywhere. To get some privacy, Brian made up an excuse that the best apples were at the furthest, most secluded part of the orchard. So on a hot Fall day they made the hike to the furthest apples they could find. His plan worked out perfectly, there was no one else around. After walking around picking apples for awhile, Brian got down on one knee and asked Lindsey to spend the rest of her life with him. And of course, she said YES!
