How we met

Following the ending of their previous relationships, Brian and Lindsy wanted to take some time to focus on themselves. After a while, Brian was ready to start dating again, and Lindsy was ready for a more serious relationship than those she had experienced post-breakup. Luckily, they both decided to join the same "Elite Singles" app. When asked why they joined Elite Singles, Brian said, “It seemed like it would give me a good pool of like-minded people to meet,” and Lindsy said, "I needed someone who was more serious about themself and their career." Brian had been on the app a couple of months when Lindsy decided to join. After she had been on the app for only a week, Lindsy popped up as a match for Brian, who messaged her early one morning. After a little fun back-and-forth, first date plans were in the works. With 4th of July being their next free day (and everything closed as a result), Brian took the reins and planned a picnic at Miller Road Park in Avon Lake (more on that later)! They ate charcuterie, drank red wine, ate a ton of cheese, and people-watched, while bonding over South Park, PBR and Drug Mart. Lindsy came down with a migraine that night (she has not had red wine since), and she was anxious that Brian thought the migraine was an excuse to end the date and he would think she wasn't into him. He was, however, not discouraged, and they continued to go out on future dates. They quickly came to realize they valued each others openness, maturity, and closeness with family. Their feelings of trust and safety grew within each other as the relationship became more serious. Eventually, Lindsy (and her faithful canine companion Mae) left Avon Lake and moved in with Brian. Patience, couples counseling, and open communication helped them find their footing as a blended family with several obstacles. Despite some outside challenges, as time went on, they knew they couldn't have a life without each other. They got engaged November 7, 2025 at Miller Road Park where it all began, and got legally married in a private ceremony January 8, 2026 (for health insurance purposes. . .and love). They have both always wanted the wedding of their dreams with the right partner, but also wanted to be able to celebrate with family and friends. As such, they are so excited to share the special wedding ceremony day they have planned!
