We're getting married!

We met in 2021, during a COVID lull. Our first date was still very much in the "do we bump elbows, how long until we take our masks off" period of American life that we all try to forget about. A short coffee date turned into a long walk all around La Jolla.

After months of deception, secret ring shopping, and heavy hints of a proposal in 2023, Brian and Laura went out to Coronado beach ahead of a fictitious birthday party. Brian had gone to Coronado the week before in the pouring rain to scout out the location, and Laura's family waited behind a high sand dune. After some aimless walking, Brian proposed to Laura and the fun part began - Laura's sisters telling her about all the times they had lied to cover the impending proposal. When asked if she was suspicious of the beach walk, Laura said "it seems like something we would do". After that, the wedding planning began in earnest.
