Why did we decide to change our surname?

Answer

The decision of our wedding being as intimate as it was, and seeing the true beauty of Italy and being able to immerse ourselves in the culture, we realized this is our new beginning. Dinizio is an Italian surname that is the preposition "di" (of), and the word "inizio" (beginning). Otherwise read as "of new beginnings". For us, marriage is the true start of our family. We look forward to building our lives together and envision raising our future children as Dinizios, instilling in them the story of their name - a name created in love. To new beginnings.

Why did we have a private ceremony with just us, and the citizens of Terni, Italy?

Answer

We have both grown on the idea of any wedding being ultimately about the bride and groom. This provided us with flexibility to create our own wedding exactly the way we wanted it. Shortly after our engagement in 2024, the groom offered a thought to have a wedding overseas, in the most intimate ceremony imaginable. The bride took time to think this through, and saw this is as the most desirable outcome. With the freedom to choose our own wedding timeline, we wanted to extend our European itinerary to a month full of exploration, bucket-list scenery, and a brand new culture to experience together. Being the adventurous couple we are, this was the perfect outcome for us. Choosing intimacy and flexibility over throwing a large party locally. This choice was for us, and it has proved to be the best decision. We thank everyone for their support in the parties, showers, and events leading up to our wedding. And now, as we have finished our beautiful private ceremony, we feel our decision was perfect.
