Stephanie McGregor

Bridesmaid

Kate met Stephanie her first day visiting the Oregon State University Campus. At the time Stephanie was a Junior member of the gymnastic team and was majoring in Engineering. Stephanie was a teammate and mentor for Kate, helping her navigate the world of collegiate gymnastics while studying engineering. As a silver lining to an unfortunate injury, Kate and Stephanie got to spend one extra year of college together. They both moved to Portland, OR after graduation where they continued to spend time together hiking, biking and summiting cascade mountains!

Scott Schults

Best Man

Scott and Brian have been friends since they were 9 years old. Having first met in the Boy Scouts, their friendship grew well beyond that. In middle school and high school, Brian and Scott were in several garage bands together as they shared a love for SKA music (and still do!). Brian and Scott went to college in different states, but still managed to keep in touch. After college, Scott would come out and visit Brian and Kate in Portland a few times a year. It wasn't too hard to convince him as he is one of the biggest craft beer fans around. Scott and his wife Kat moved to Portland in 2019, just three months before Brian and Kate moved to Idaho. Although the timing was unfortunate, they got to be neighbors again for a few short weeks! Scott will always be like a second brother to Brian.

Hannah Smith

Bridesmaid

Hannah and Kate were teammates on the Oregon State Gymnastics Team for three years. Due to Hannah and Kate's academic schedules, they couldn't always make normal practice times with the full team, so they would come in early and practice together! Hannah was a great support system for Kate in College and always a good friend ready for a fun time! After college they both moved to Portland, OR where they spent their time exploring breweries and hiking.

Andrew Engdahl

Groomsman

Andrew is Brian's older brother. Having known Brian his whole life, they share a lifetime of memories. He has had a huge influence on Brian. In fact, Andrew first introduced Brian to home brewing which obviously led to his biggest passion and career. Although they live states apart now, Brian and Andrew stay connect by playing video games together virtual.

Chelsea Tang Ramsay

Bridesmaid

Chelsea and Kate both grew up doing gymnastics in Oregon. Although Chelsea grew up in Eugene and Kate in Bend, they saw each other at meets a few times a year. Kate and Chelsea hardly knew each other at the time, but Kate always looked up to Chelsea as a gymnast. Fast forward to college, they ended up on the same team and were also roommates for all four years! Chelsea, Kate and other roommate Kailie were known as the Fairies (like the fairy godmothers from Cinderella) after dressing up like them for Halloween one year. The fairies were hardly ever seen apart on campus. Chelsea and Kate live much farther than a hallway apart these days, but still make an effort to see each other a few times a year and always pick up right where they left off!

Thomas Buttles

Groomsman

Thomas and Brian met through the food science program at Oregon State. Brian, Thomas and Josh would spend many nights in college doing beer "research and taste testing" together. These nights usual lead to long debates over brewing processes, nerdy science and schemes about the future. After college, Brian and Thomas both stayed in the Oregon area, but set out on different brewing adventures. Thomas was based out of Bend, OR, so Brian and Kate would go visit whenever possible. Thomas and his wife Sami have gone on many adventures with Brian and Kate. They summited a few of the cascade mountains together, done many camping trips and even spent two weeks traveling through Europe and attending Oktober Fest together!

Olivia Shaw

Bridesmaid

Olivia and Kate have been friends since they were 4 and 6 years old. They did gymnastics together for about 10 years as kids. In the summers when they were not at practice, they spent most of their time at each other's houses swimming, playing computer games and having sleep overs. Kate and Olivia lost touch in high school and college as their paths turned in different directions. However, after college they both ended up in Portland, OR where they reconnected over weekly tea date. It was as if time had never passed, and they were able to pick up right where they left off. Their friendship is timeless!

Josh Evans

Groomsman

Josh and Brian met through the food science program at Oregon State. Brian, Josh and Thomas would spend many nights in college doing beer "research and taste testing" together. These nights usual lead to long debates over brewing processes, nerdy science and schemes about the future. After college, Brian and Josh's paths lead them on different brewing adventures, but they always get together a few times a year to do collaboration brews or participate in more "research" together. Sometimes they even brand out into the culinary world and make large batch Corn Dogs together (in case they ever want to switch careers and start a food truck.)

Janelle Kroll

Bridesmaid

Janelle and Kate have had many relationships over the years. They started out as teammates when Kate was in elementary school and Janelle was in high school. Kate looked up to Janelle was "one of the big girls" on the team. When Janelle graduated, she turned to coaching and become Kate's assistant coach and primary spotting coach. Without Janelle's support, Kate wouldn't have achieved a high enough level to do college gymnastics. Kate's life was literally in Janelle's hands many times, keeping her from falling on her neck and face! Janelle went on to school to study nursing and Kate went off the Oregon State. Although they were on their own path for a few years, Janelle still managed to make it to Kate's 21st birthday and a few other big life moments. Since college, Janelle and Kate have reconnected and even travelled to Oktoberfest in Germany together!

James Robert

Groomsman

Brian and James met their Freshman year of college as they were both on the Oregon State University Wrestling team. James and Brian's friendship grew when they later became roommates as upperclassman. After college they all moved to Portland where Biran, Kate and James spent time skiing, camping, wake boarding, going to concerts and exploring Portland bars together!

Olivia Ohlrich

Flower Girl

Kate's Super Adorable Niece, age 2.5 years

Rhett Ohlrich

Ring Bearer

Kate's Super Cool Nephew, age 2.5 years

Calan Eyler

Officiant

Calan and Brian met their freshman year of college Calan was hired as an athletic tutor and Brian was put into his group for mandatory athlete study hall. They soon realized that they had chemistry class together as well. They friendship grew over study session and their shared love of music. Calan also happened to be the athletic tutor for a few of the gymnast, one of which was Kate's roommate. Brian and Kate started hanging out in group settings through their mutual connection, Calan. Once Calan caught wind that Brian might have had a little "crush" on Kate, he did some subtle, but effective match making. He may not be the reason they ended up together, but he did give them a nice nudge in the right direction! Calan has been a witness to Kate and Brian's relationship as it has grown over the year. He moved away to Seattle after graduating Oregon State to earn his doctorate in pharmacy from UW, but is now back in the Portland, OR area. Brian and Kate get to see him whenever they visit. Calan has always been a huge presence in both of their lives. He was so supportive of both Brian and Kate's athletic careers and is now a supporter of their brewery! Brian and Kate could not think of a more fitting person to stand up with them on their special day and officiate their wedding!
