Mt Princeton Hot Springs is at approximately 8,200 ft above sea level and we will be in a dry climate. Drink lots of water leading up to travel to altitude and while you are there. Ibuprofen is a good go to if you feel a headache coming on from being at altitude. Electrolytes will help with hydration as well.
The hot springs are spread out over several pools. As such, it’s good to bring a nice robe with you as it could be cool outside when you get out of one pool to go to another. A pool noodle is also a good thing to have with you when floating if you desire one. Don’t forget flip flops or pool shoes.
Right now, the forecast is trending toward having quite warm temperatures while we are up at Mt Princeton. Think 60’s up to the 70’s for high temps. Bring sunscreen, lip balm, and plan on warm days and cold nights.
Plan on Friday being casual. You can wear anything including jeans, boots, and western wear. Jean shorts with boots is not a good look, and neither are sandals with socks.
Throughout the resort you can charge most everything to your room and settle up during checkout, but cash is always welcome.
From Denver and the surrounding areas, it’s approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours of drive time. Weather is trending warm and as of now snow should not hinder your travel. I will update the FAQ should that change.
The area surround Mt Princeton is beautiful and provides different entertainment option for different interests. Of note is the St Elmo ghost town which is approximately a 30 minute drive west of Mt Princeton. Buena Vista is a small town approximately 15 minutes away of Mt Princeton with restaurants and shops along with a western small town vibe.
The property at Mt Princeton is quite expansive and includes several pools and the different types of lodging. While it’s walkable, we are in mountainous terrain and there are hills and small climbs.
